I know I just dont get it......cough, cough,
But you know you
( hang on a minute you got a light)
never know when
( darn that was my last smoke)
That addiction will kick in and
( you got an extra smoke)
and you will be hooked
(shoot can I borrow some money for some smokes)
And its a real biatch to quit.

is this a serious question?....
Anyone out there is going to tell you that everything you just said is what EVERYONE says before they become addicted and/or they look back on their life after years of smoking. Your age is the biggest factor.... yes, its BAD and illegal to be doing damage to you health before your even able to use your body in sports, challenges, etc at the age where everything sort of comes together for young people. Also, the "here and there" comment or "it relieves stress" are all reasons that people start smoking and then later get addicted and then much later they either die or want to quit and can't. Your story is not new. The real question now would be: What is a good reason for me to be smoking at 13? Is it really worth my time at this age to be doing something potentially harmful to my body? In 10 years will I still be doing this? Have many people my age done this and NOT gotten addicted?
Answer those questions, honestly, and then come back and ask about it. I doubt anyone's answers on this board are going to change your heart as much as your own answers will.

I know what you mean. I used to smoke. I started with one or two every so often. Then I started smoking a 1/2 pack, then a full pack...before I knew it I was smoking 2 packs a day.
I used to ride mountain bikes, jog and climb mountains...but my lungs stopped funtioning as good as they did before so I stopped doing that stuff.
My point is at first its hard to see what it is doing to you, but I promise if you keep smoking you will see the bad effects. Its not a matter of whether it will happen to you or not. it WILL happen. Stop smoking while you can. Find another way to relieve stress like taking a little walk, reading a good book, or something.

1.) Smoking cause long term damage. You dont see it on the outside till it gets out of control.
2.) Second hand smoke is worse off then smoking your self.
3.) You are 13, you don't know much about the risk of smoking as you like to think you do. Trust me im 19, I was once 13 and thought the same thing. I still smoke but I am aware of the health problems Im causing for my self and others around me. ( I am working on quitting)
4.) If you think smoking is not a danger to your health then try to look at your x-rays of your lungs. Try talking to a person who haves lung cancer.
5.) If you are so sure of your self that smoking is fine and all good. Try telling that to a person who haves to deal with lung cancer and they never smoked a day in their life. How did they get lung cancer then? Simply cause of all the second hand smoke from other people.

Please, do not have one here and there! I thought exactly like you when I was 15. I would tell myself "I only have one a week with my friends, it's no big deal!" But eventually that one a week became two a week, then one a day. By the time I hit my freshman year of college I was smoking a PACK a day. All this at 18 years old.
Now, it's a daily battle to not smoke. I may go months without any cigarettes, but when my stress level gets high it is just hard to control myself. Addiction creeps up on you. You tell yourself you aren't addicted and that you could stop any time you wanted, but really it doesn't work like that.
I know you feel fine, but you are doing real damage to your body that could take years to heal. You are increasing your risk of cancer as well as a host of other problems.
Please stop. Now.

Oh Boy - You have heard smoking is bad. You may smoke one here and on there and the here and there will be coming closer and frequently. Your smoking will increase and at once stage you will not be able stop it.
Do not tell that you get stress relieved. You do not get any enjoyment at any level. I will lead to ill health and possibilities of attracting several deadly diseases like Hear ailmant, cancer, etc. are more.
I was a chin smoker for 20 years and I have suffered a lot. Boy. please take my advise and stop smoking completely. I will be thankful to you.

Smoking causes cancer, it stunts your growth, it causes stroke and heart attack. You also age quicker You may feel fine but it'll catchup to you. You're burning out your lungs and your body is being damaged little by little. Even second hand smoke is harmful so just imagine how bad it is when your mouth is on the cigarete. Cigarrettes also contain nicotine and that's a drug. That is very harmful for teens cuz our boies are still maturing and developing and your altering your body before it got a chance to develop properly Don't be surprised if one day you can't get out of bed

HHmm well it has been proven that passive smoking can be just as bad as actually having a cigarette. So no there is no safe limit to smoking and never will be. EVERY cigarette damages your lungs. Sheesh your only 13? You should be thinking about more important things! School, being with your friends and interest in boys.
Get over it...any type of drug causes harm. There is no safe one!

Listen kid, first of all, at age 13, you don't even know what stress is. You just want to believe that you are stressed, because you think it's cool, that it makes you mature. Smoking does irreversible damage, especially among children. And you are a child! Stop smoking now, while it's still easy to do so.

I think smoking is injurious to health in the long run. It has been substantiated by a load of scientific work. But if you can keep up with your present frequency of smoking, there does not seem to be any harm accruing out of that even in the long run. Best of luck. By the way you seem to be an arrogant person, this is not alright.
