You would be surprised to know how many singers and musicians there are out there who simply can't read music. They have this gift that allows them to produce sweet, sweet music as if they have been taught in some universal special school. Also now, it couldn't hurt to have some serious schooling.

If you want to get your name out there, you gotta start singing in front of people. It doesn't matter if it's only one person that hears you at a time. Eventually, you may just fill a stadium full of people who are willing to pay just to hear you sing.

College is a yes! Although it is not the only way to get a job in the music industry, it definitely helps. Teachers will give you opportunities to perform for people who would not normally get to see you. There's always the chance that there will be "scouts" watching. Also, your teachers will be able to help you make connections in the industry.

Enroll at JRP(John Robert powers). It cost about 1200. You meet up one day a week for either 1 or 2 hours. They have auditions every week. If you join JRP. You might be able to audition for something really really good.

Good luck and have fun. It is possible to succeed. You don't need college to make it. I'd head to Broadway or Nashville.
