Invisiline is more expensive then regular braces, and the end result may not be as good as with regular braces.

I am Orthodontist, so I can probably answer your question. Invisalign works well if you do not have lot of crowding. There are limitations on the kind of cases we can treat with Invisalign. In addition, Invisalign will accept your case only after your second molars erupt. So, you should be older than 12. But with Invisalign we cannot achieve perfect results. With braces I have better control. Whatever you do, go to an Orthodontist and not a general dentist who is certified in Invisalign. More recently, there is another company called Orthoclear, which works just like Invisalign. I get better results with this company/trays. By the way it is Invisalign and not Invisiline. In may suburban California practice, I charge $5300 for a full Orthodontic case (irrespective of braces or Invisalign). Hope that helps.

If your case is SUITABLE for Invisalign, it works wonderfully well - as long as you do your part and wear them (almost) 24/7. Any dentist doing Invisalign has to be certified to use them and should be capable of making the diagnosis of whether or not to use them. If Invisalign was suggested to you, then it should work for your case.

I would not say that Invisalign is better or worse than braces, because it depends on the case. There is no set answer. After a few minutes of wearing them, your speech will sound just fine. They are very thin and pretty much exactly the same shape as your teeth. They do tend to increase the amount of saliva in your mouth at first, but you soon get used to that and the salivary flow seems to slow back to normal after a while, also.

In my rural South Jersey general practice, I charge $3,000 for most Invisalign cases, which is less than traditional braces in most cases. I have heard that some charge more for Invisalign than they do for braces, though. The thing is, I an not a specialist and I choose to do only "easy" cases that will not require extra devices to be used in conjunction with Invisalign. This can add to the fee significantly.

As the above orthodontist stated, you must have all your permanent teeth in place, and no cavities. I am half way thru my Invisalign treatment, and I wouldn't have it any other way. No one knows I have them on because they are clear. I can talk to people, smile in pictures and they don't show. They are also less damaging to the teeth because you don't have brackets cemented to every tooth. Depending on your situation, you my need a few composite(tooth colored filling) buttons placed on a couple teeth during treatment, but these match perfectly, and are polished off in the end. Invisalign isn't for everyone depending on the types of movement you need, so see your dentist/orthodontist to determine if you are a candidate. I work as an assistant in a dental practice in North Tampa, and we charge $4700-5400 depending on the difficulty. Good luck.

I've seen it work on some extreme cases and the results are exceptional.

Age - it works best on adults. Patient cooperation is very important because you must wear the aligners all the time except when eating or brushing. Teens tend to take the aligners off and lose them. Also, it's best used on fully developed dentition.

Cost can - in most cases - be less than traditional braces. Ask your dentist.
