Dont you think its "replacing" the bible in some christian lives? Dint you notice it twists the scriptures , adds things that are not biblical and minimise other important aspects from the word of G-d

If anyone said to me, what do you think of the book called the Purpose Driven Life, I would say to them, invest your time in studying the bible instead, you will gain much, much more wisdom from God's word than this book.

That's my personal opinion, from having picked up this book, read some of it, and put it down, never to pick it up again.

I suppose it could replace the Bible for some but I don't think it does for most. It is full of Biblical quotes. It's a great book that has been helpful to many Christians. I read the book 3 times, finding it very helpful. It hasn't replaced the Bible for me, which I read daily.
Some people like to spend their time attacking other Christians. Just type the name of any prominent Christian into google with the word false teacher beside it and you'll see what I mean.

Unfortunately, Christians use a lot of books to replace the Bible. Look at the Left Behind series. Christians took it for Gospel.
I didn't care for Purpose Driven Life for the reasons you just stated.

Actually, I've been reading it. It goes along with the Bible, I haven't noticed it twisting any verses or minimizing any important aspects of Gods word, I just can't stand reading 1 chapter a night, it's driving me crazy I get bored with it.

And it DEFINATELY IS NOT REPLACING THE BIBLE.

It is not a matter of it replacing the Bible. everyone has a unique mind. it is what the end result of the idea that a book or the bible leaves in our mind.
God is control, and we are all different and need different things to walk in God's light.

Are you so insecure in your faith that other books frighten you? I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see that some people are actually threatened by the thought that they are being asked to think about what they believe in. They worry that to be exposed to other thoughts will ruin their cozy world where they don't have to think or do anything.

Next stop... Book burnings.

Yes, that's why I don't like it, and I don't read it, and I don't apply it to my life.
