Then that would mean that he ultimately knows whether or not you're going to hell so why would he even bother to create you? I know he gives us a choice but he knows EVERYTHING so doesn't he know what you will ultimately choose? I already know what I believe I'm just trying to stir up conversation. So what are your thoughts?

The idea that God cannot see our choices or that if he can then we don't have that choice seems to be the main hangup. In my opinion the idea of a "multiverse", ie. multiple versions of our own world and universe that exist at the same time as ours and perhaps in the same space, negates that mental confusion. If there are multiple versions of us all than there can still be free choice and an omnicient being seeing all possabillities and simply watching the ball roll.

If god really does know everything like many people believe, then he's just like a writer reading his own book or a play-write watching his play be performed. He already knows what will happen, but maybe he's so bored that he doesn't have anything better to do or he could just be sitting back and enjoying self-indulgent entertainment. I know I'm making jokes, but that's just because the idea of an omniscient god is laughable to me. People probably believe that to feel comforted by someone knowing better than they do. If you ask me, religion is more of a defense mechanism than a search for truth.

It's called free-will, he gives us the choice to believe in him or not. He doesn't know which we will choose, he hopes we will all choose him, it hurts him that people will go to hell, he don't want that, he is giving people plenty of time to decide on which ever. He knows some will reject him. But it's not that he's sitting up there in Heaven with a list already knowing exactly WHO will believe and who wont. We still have free-will.

We can`t change anything but God can.He tells us to honor our father and mother that our days may be long on this earth.Things change all the time, things arn`t written in blood ,we our given free will and our free will sets off the chain reaction of our lives. We come to many cross roads and our choices ,and it is our choice, that takes us to what ever is beyound the next bend.We have many trials that will either defeat us or we will get through and that is how we grow. The Bible says that the first will be last and the last shall be first. Its our walk here that determs what our eternal walk will be with God.

God knows the futcher for you , me , and the world. Tes ! But we do have our own free will. So the futcher is not set in stone. One can change the futcher by prayer. An example is if one prays for a dieing friend. With faith this person can live and not die for a while longer. But we all die sooner or latewr. But God does not see death. Because He sees ever lasting life. God does leave it up to you and me if we want to go to Heaven or Hell. God does know what is truly in our hearts. We can not lie to God. In Genesis 4 ; Cain tryed to lie to God when he killed Abel. God know the truth. God know what was in Cain's heart.

Yes God knows if you are going to hell or not. But there is a way you can determine if you are going to hell or not. Do you believe Jesus as your savior? Then you're not going to hell.

You have a choice to make about who Jesus is. God only knows what choice you will make...it doesn't take away that you are responsible for making the choice.

Yeah, he knows, that is why is is said that out of FOREKNOWLEDGE he predestined some to be his Elect.

1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,
To God's elect, strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood:
Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

Here is why, it pleases him to prove that he is a loving God, so he created all man equal, with equal opportunity to choose him or choose Satan. it he only created those who would choose him, he would be cheating, and unjust, it would take away the argument for unconditional love. he may know who will and will not choose him, but he does not make the decision who will and will not. we are given that power, to our own end.

God is a scientist who likes to experiment. He gave us (humans) free will. He already knows who is going to follow Him and who is not. It is very complecated. Why does He bother, because He wants people to love Him because they choose to and not because He created them. Why do people have kids? For selfish reasons...same with God.

Because he loves.

I think of it this way... when a husband and wife decide to have a child, do they automatically think, "oh, the kid's going to be put in prison for murder" ? No they don't.

They want a child b/c they will share their love with that child. They create a child to be a part of them and their lives - to give the child joy, love, nurturing.

To quote Al Pacino is some movie he did, I think Devil's Advocate, God is an absetee landlord.

How many planets like ours do you think he is preoccupied with? There are billions in the universe.
