I got a bad perm and it was a disaster. This is what I did to deal with it until it loosened up.
Wash hair, condition. Squeeze water out.
Apply John Frieda's Frizz-Ease immediately and use thruout hair.
Comb out gently.
Apply a heavy duty gel over the top of that - like Creative Genius.
Then you might use your diffuser a little bit while gently scrunching but NOT too much. You can get "some" of the water out but if you continue to dry - there will be frizzing! So the key is to just do it a few minutes and leave the hair mostly damp.
You can easily air dry your hair after using those 2 products and if you don't mind having wet hair til it air-dries, that's better yet.
This method has worked for other people that I recommended it to. :)

My advice: Go to a very high-end salon or a place that has nice beauty products and knowledge staff. Next see if there are professional hair stylists doing hair in plain view and ask them what is the best temporary or permanent hair straightener for YOUR hair type. You do not want something so light that you don't notice any change and you do not want something so strong that you end up bald. That said the "do you have experience with my hair-type" guestion is VITALLY important. Wishing you many frizz-free hair days!

I have that SAME hair. I use one of the frizz-free shampoos and then comb a frizz free lotion thru before blow drying.

i use leave-in conditioner (infusium) and also i avoid any shampoos or conditioners with alcohol in them. conditioners with no alcohol in them are very very rare. alcohol is very deceptive because it makes your hair feel very soft, but it dries it out like no other! sodium laureth sulfate is a good ingredient in conditioners, that actually is an ok thing. sometimes i use hair products that are designed for ethnic hair even though i am caucasion. they are usually really nice.

hair rebond is the best though you should be very careful who would do it and what kind/brand of rebonding chemical will use...then after 2 weeks, have a 'reborn' treatment!....'have the same prob before but after having my hair rebond and reborn every now and then, i have a straight, soft and shinny hair now!
