The purpose driven life has little of value in it for a Christian. Its all bones and no meat, a pretty little window dressing for the New Age Philosophy. It is marketing 100%.

I think the purpose driven life is like "microwave Bible". It kind of condenses everything in the Bible to a small easy to read book. I prefer to have some of the details of the Bible, but if it's used to bring people to Christ, then it's worth it. Same with marketing when it's done for the right reasons.

The book is good, and worth dedicating the time to. As for the marketing, those churches turn me off, but they do attract a lot of people who feel the need to be with the in crowd.

I read the purpose driven life and found it to be an excellent reference for moderate living for today's generation. It tells of God's reason for creating mankind, what our purpose is in this life and why we are here. As for the marketing around the mega churches... I have to say it has gotten out of hand. In the biblical times, even Jesus was seen chasing the merchants out of the temple, (who were selling animals, jewelry, clothing, etc.), saying and i quote, "It is written, my house shall be called the house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves." -Matthew 21:12,13.

I read the Bible which is Gods Word and God's word is all I need this highly promoted book is not above the Bible because to me God's book of directions is the most valuable and true book there is!!! The Purpose for everything is in the Bible and everything that is needed to enlighten mankind is there anything else just ads confusion and that is Satans aim to confuse Mankind and he seems to be succeeding in this with most of /humans since they read and listen to propaganda devised by Satan Rather than the Bible which is God inspired!!!!

I'm actually in the middle of reading "the purpose driven life". So far I think it's pretty good. My step grandpa read it and loved it. He claims that it changed his life. I think it's a really good book for people who are looking for direction and people who feel lost and confused. The book offers a lot of direction and comfort. But I think anyone who is oppinonated or feel that they are complete regarding their faith (which no one is, but some people feel that way...) won't like it.

I know! Like I saw this thing on TV were a guy was selling holy water that made you "wealthy" I was like "oh know he did not just sit there and say that that tap water in his hand brings you weath! That is against my religion...he should be ashamed of that. Jesus would never do anything like that
