they do what we won't or aren't able to do. robots can do job more efficiently and safely than humans can like build cars or other machines. they can also go places humans can't go to, like next to a bomb to diffuse it or to another planet to explore it. robots can do everyday activities that maybe some elderly people aren't able to do anymore like vaccuming; or just keeping company.
robots are an awesome technology that i believe we should further explore and refine.

This depends on what you mean by "robot." The word has a wide range of meanings.
Robotic arms assemble products, for example cars, on assembly lines.
Roomba robots vacuum your floor for you, saving you the trouble of doing it yourself.
Robots are used by surgeons to operate remotely or to perform microsurgery.
Robotic machinery sorts your mail at the post office.
Some robots are used solely for entertainment, but that is useful, in a way, since recreation is an important part of being human.
The list goes on. In general, robots are built to do repetitive or dangerous tasks that people would grow bored of doing or wouldn't want to do. Sometimes robots do things faster or better than people can do them, and some robots are most certainly stronger than people.
