It depends on the size of the person and the person's condition. When fighting an infection the bone marrow produces more than normal. It is not possible to count how many in the whole body because many white blood cells are sequestered in the RE system (spleen, lymph nodes) as well as other organs throughout the body. White blood cells may be found in every organ - and white blood cells are what cause boils and pimples to get a white head. White blood cells are often seen in the peripheral circulation (blood stream) and this has been studied and generally a normal circulating white blood cell count is around 3.5 to 10.5 x 1000/mm3. The actual normal range varies from lab to lab based on the equipment used and the population tested.

total WBC - normal range 4000 to 7000 cells per cc (ml) of blood. Depending on the race and age, an adult would have between 5 to 6 litres of blood in his body. You do the rest of the calculations. :-)

It depends....White blood cell counts increase when fighting an infection and decrease if you have an auto-immune disorder. There are many other factors that effect your wbc count as well.
