In the United States there women are not allowed to serve in "front line" "combat" fields, but the possibility of them having to fight is still there................

Females are not allowed to fight in most military forces. The very few that allow it are either morally bankrupt (Tamil Tigers, FARC) or very egalitarian (Scandinavian countries).

In the United States, females are not permitted to join the ground components (Army, Marine Corps) for purposes of serving in combat arms (traditionally infantry, armor, artillery). In practice, they can still serve as MPs and other functions that take them on the roads, expose them to fire, and demand they participate in combat. In 2005 at Salman Pak, Iraq, a female Army MP NCO led a counterattack that destroyed an Iraqi insurgent ambush. So yes, females do fight, and in some instances they acquit themselves honorably.

I know personally of many males that have failed to do so or demonstrated both incompetence and cowardice, so bravery should be credited where credit is due.

Remember Jessica Lynch. Women are not in infantry and direct combat jobs, but there are plenty of women over there right now doing the same thing these guys are doing.
