You should be getting 8-10 hours of sleep per night. Try going to bed 15 minutes earlier and then 15 min earlier than that. Also take a power nap for about 20 minutes after school. Too little will not help and too long will make you sleepier. It is a good idea to sleep in and get plenty of rest on the weekends. It does kind of set you up to getting your hours all mixed up on the weekdays - but better to get the extra sleep any way you can get it. Sleeping the amount that you are right now affects how good of a job you are able to do throughout the day. You can do much better with your school work and also your fun times ill be much better too cause you will be sharp and alert

Sometimes you don't even realize you aren't getting enough sleep until you happen to sleep late, and then you wake up and feel really good.
You are saying you are tired throughout the day, and that means you aren't getting enough sleep. Do you end up using sugar and caffeine to keep you up?
I don't know what your evenings are like, but you might try setting some bedtime rituals for yourself so you can relax and fall asleep earlier. Maybe take a bath, do some yoga or even a walk. Don't drink anything with caffeine in it during the evenings.
Perhaps lay out your clothes for the next day, and if possible you could always wash your hair the night before, dry it and then put it in a bun so you have really nice body the next day. That might save you more time and let you have more sleep.

They say you're suppose to get around 8 hours of sleep. But no one does anymore. As long as you don't feel tired, then I would say your fine. You might want to try going to bed at 11:00 once and at 9:00. If you still wake up at that time, then I'd go to bed at 9:00 so you get that extra hour of sleep. Some peoples bodies only need 5-6 hours of sleep each night.

Sleep deprivation is an overall lack of the necessary amount of sleep. A person can be deprived of sleep by their own body and mind, as a consequence of some sleep disorders, or, actively, by another individual. Sleep deprivation is sometimes used as an instrument of torture. Sleep deprivation afflicts one quarter of all adults in the United States.
Lack of sleep may also result in irritability, blurred vision, slurred speech, memory lapses, overall confusion, hallucinations, decreased sex drive, nausea, psychosis, and eventually death.
You should definetly get at least 8-9 hours.

You need to be getting more sleep on a regular basis. Why do you need to get up so early? Can you re-arrange your schedule by doing some extra things in the evening so you can sleep longer? Perhaps you could choose your outfit, take your shower, get all your books, purse, whatever together before you go to bed. And go to sleep earlier by one hour and sleep one hour later. This would be much healthier for you.

Everyone is different. Ask yourself, how do I feel when I wake up at 4:15? If your answer is happy, well rested, ready for the day, then there is no problem with it. If , on the other had you are anxious and that is why you are waking up early, this could be the sign of a problem.

If you were a bit older it'd be enough, but you need more. The amount of time you spend in different sleep cycles changes as you get older. Parents complain about their teenagers sleeping all the time oftentimes without realising they actually need more sleep for proper brain function. At your age you should be getting 8-9 hours - about 6.5 hours is enough for someone in middle-age.
That said, different people have different natural circadian rhythms. You should be asking - are you tired? If you're tired, then you need more sleep. If you're not, don't worry about it.

Individual vary in the amount of sleep they need. If you fall asleep instantly, or need an alarm clock to wake up and you experience sleepiness during the day, then your sleep is insufficient....try taking naps in the afternoon to cover for the sleep loss.

Enough sleep if you listen to the experts no but it is also true that many people do fine with almost no sleep or just a couple of hours and live their whole life that way. 8 hours is the textbook answer so compare how you feel.
