The skin condition we call hives is referred to in medical terms as urticaria. A hive, or wheal, is a symptom of urticaria. However, most people do not develop one hive when they have urticaria, hence the name hives.
Apply cool compresses to the part of your body with welts. This may reduce swelling and pain. If a large part of your body is affected, soak in a cool bath. Avoid hot baths or showers.
Avoid irritating the area with tight-fitting clothing.
Apply Calamine lotion.
Take antihistamines like diphenhydramine (Benadryl). If over-the-counter antihistamines make you too drowsy, talk to your doctor about non-sedating antihistamines.

Benedryl comes in many forms. There are pills, cream and liquid. If the hives itch and you are ready to break your skin open, I would recommend the liquid. it comes in a pen like container that can be taken anywhere purse or pocket, just rub it on the ares that itches. It doesn't matter what form of this drug you use it will make you drowsy so be careful. Hope this helps.

Yes, Take Benadryl for that also Calomine lotion may help too.
but my best advice to you is to ask your doctor first before you take anything. I took benadryl for hives , it worked for me. also hydro cortisone works.
