I work at a job that provides great pay AND benefits (much better then I did as a teacher).

I feel as if I am going mad (well "mad" might be a a bit overstating it,)

however.

I like working with people that involve caring for others (that's why I chose teaching, but I couldn't pay my bills) and in turn ALSO are supportive of the people they work with.

This is not the scenario of this position.

Well, financially I can understand why you left teaching - I have many friends who teach; they have spouses that support them.

Not many people get a chance to do what they truly enjoy, if you enjoyed teaching - you may just go back. (find a wealthy person to sweep you off your feet first?! )

Eh, seriously - if you don't want/can't afford to go back to teaching and are unhappy where you are - you'll need to keep looking.

Sounds like you have a gift to help people, I don't know where you are at now, but perhaps become a nurse - there are many options in that field.

I have been displaced at a job before. I just kept switching until I found the nitch I have now. I'm happy and work is great, the workers are great.

I feel for you cos i'm in that situation right now.
I have bills to pay every month so I have to keep doing my job
I plan to find new one with better paid, I have to put the job i love behind cos I choose money. Or you can do the job you love as part time.

If u aint happy, aint noone happy, so either try to love your job or
find a hobby job.
Think of it as....jobs are hard to come by or
just go into your own business.
But if u are terrible miserable, go job huntin and quit the one u dont like as soon as u are hired somewhere else.
