Isn't it uplifting .. and amazing .. how many wonderful and creative ideas you can get - almost instantly - even ideas for adorning the simple hot dog.
I am impressed by most ALL of them ...
Personally, I grind up a relish you can find (whole) in the relish area of your local grocer ... I don't recall the name .. but it is in a clear jar and has cauliflower, carrot, etc distinctively displayed. A little hot pepper and it's good to go (after using the fine cooking techniques you have read on here)

Before you boil them, try stuffing them with bits of Jalapeno pepper and or cheddar cheese or anything that turns your fancy. You could also do them on the BBQ. Experiment. If plain boiled dogs don't do you in you can't loose with experiments as long as you only use other foods. What about chili and chutney, just thought of this one.

cut up and add them to your baked beans, add to mac and cheese or ramen noodles. I slice dogs up for breakfast, slice real thin laike bacon, fry mm crisp up real good, surprises people, but ther is never any left. Also frying them issso good, put a few tsp of water in pan then as it is vaporized add your butter, the hot dogs are warmed trhough, so get nice carmely outside instead of burnt. Also carmelize some onions, and add on top or even thin raw onions, coleslaw, chili, try some hot pepeprs too

Bikerbabe's idea is worth trying, she speaks the truth.
So if you do decide to pan fry your dogs, wrap it with bacon.
Bacon wrapped hot dogs!!! While in the pan, throw in some sliced bell peppers, onions (if you wish), and sprinkle some ground black pepper.
When the hot dogs are done, put it in a bun, dress it with condiments, then put the bell peppers and onions on top!
Enjoy!

My daughter loves "stuffed hot dogs". Slice the hot dogs lengthwise and fill with mashed potatoes (instant or homemade) and top with cheddar cheese. It's not flavoring the dogs, themselves, but it makes a "meal!"
