The list is long... too long for here. Accents in England vary widely from the North to the South and then from within regions. I am from the Midlands and can tell if someone is from the yam-yam black country, posh Sutton, inner city Brum, etc... from their accent. Its different from the accent varations in America.
To name a few : Scouse, Brummy, Cockney, Home Counties, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Geordie.........

I have heard all of them and can do all of them as well. Having been brought up in that great country, i can safely say that it is impossible to describe them. Some are gutteral, some speak the Queens English, some cockney rhyming slang(although thats pretty rare these days) and some are just down right impossible to comprehend! Why do you want to know?

100's
Around here the accent changes every 10 to 15 miles or so.
I can tell the difference between, Warrington, liverpool, Wigan, St Helens. All these towns and cities are next to each other and have completely different accents.

There are innumerable variations of accents, it is impossible to describe or count them.
It is said that a real expert can even tell which VILLAGE you came from, because each has subtle differences.
