Have you considered adopting one? Check out www.petfinder.com web site and your local animal shelters and the Stafford-shire Bull Terrier rescue organizations. you may luck out and be able to adopt a young house trained and medically sound dog who already understands basic obedience and has house manners and can walk on a leash.
So many dogs need homes, why not at least look into what is available for adoption before you pay for a dog.
