I'm doing a Bible devotion for my school and I need a verse that talks about changeing our ways of life so we're more like God. Any suggestions?

Ephesians 4:22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. 26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil. 28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. 29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Read any of the Gospel accounts of Jesus taking up his public ministry. The first thing he says is "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand." Repent is the English translation of the Greek word "metanoite", which means to change one's mindset / way of life. So the very first thing Christ tells us to do is to change our way of life!

Another place to look is in the Beatitudes, where he tells us "...blessed are...". The phrase "blessed are" means that those things are what make us like God and bestow His grace on us.

John 3 discusses being born again spiritually. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus says, "Not all those who say I am their Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. The only people who will enter the kingdom of heaven are those who do what my Father in heaven wants." John 5:29 also talks about the judging of good and evil.

John 14:15 [ Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit ] "If you love me, you will obey what I command.

When we follow Jesus and His teachings, then we will change from our old man and put on the new man.

Ephesians 4:22-25:
22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

Grace and God Bless!

Thats really cool, there are tons of verses about chaning your ways,
you should exspecially look into the Epistles if Paul (that man was a genius!).
Psalm 55:19 NIV • Read this chapter
God, who is enthroned forever, will hear them and afflict them— Selah men who never change their ways and have no fear of God.
Psalm 55:19 NIV • Read this chapter
God, who is enthroned forever, will hear them and afflict them— Selah men who never change their ways and have no fear of God.
Matthew 18:3 NIV • Read this chapter
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I hope that helps

Look in Matthew, chapter 5, otherwise known as the beatitudes. These are ways of behavior inherently impossible for us. That is why we have to be born again, and have the spirit of God in us, to do any of these things Jesus tells us to do.

I Corintians Chapter 6 vs. 9
9 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

Research being "Born again". That is the concept. Outside influences do not change you, Christ changes you from the inside out, starting with the heart.
