My mom was on effexor... and all I can say is WATCH OUT!!! Effexor can be really addicting... she was taking the max dosage in high qualities... just follow the lable carefully... and rememeber NEVER TO TAKE MORE than it says! It will really make you off balence and almost bi-polar.

It did help. And, you can also make yourself not-depressed. You just need to find something or someone to help.

I know, I did it.

Please try not to take any psychotropic meds. I have seen so many people have more psychiatric symptoms on meds than without meds.
You really can't go by what others experience because the brain is very unique to each human and what a drug does to one it can do the opposite to the next person.
Also, please keep in mind that NO psychiatric medication on the market will cure depression, or any other mental illness, the drugs merely mask symptoms or trade them for different ones.
Once you start taking one psychotropic, pretty soon you'll need more and more until you end up in kidney or liver failure.

I am on Lamictal. Lamictal isn't considered a Depression Medication. It is perscibed mainly for siezures and convulsions and is sometimes used to treat Bi-Polar Disorder or other severe mood changes. I really don't like it though, it gives me hives, but I still have to take it, it does help my mood some, but it causes severe ichiness....

..i've had depression/anxiety for most of my adult life..over the past 8 years i've tried pretty much every antidepressant available..i'm currently doing very well on lexapro, and buspar..(buspar for the anxiety)..my advice is keep trying different meds until you find the med/dosage that's right for you..it's not an easy path, but it pays off in the end..

If you have been diagnosed with Clinical Depression and go any anti depressant drug, be aware that it extinguishes all sex drive! Ive been off of Prozac for at least five years now and have lost all libido drive what so ever! Just be aware of what your getting yourself into.
