I am interested in finding this dog or puppy. I hear that they have health and mental issues. Anyone know anything about this?

Please do the research----Staffies aren't for everyone, they r definitely beautiful dogs but r alot of work to be a great dog. So please do the research and maybe try adopting a mixed breed(alittle bit of everything) I have a 17 year old German shepherd mix and we had him since he was 1 year old and he is the BEST dog hands down. I also have 2 pit bulls and they r great 2 but they took alot of work to be that way!

Skin problems have been associated with blue pits so please do your research. And only purchase from a responsible breeder (who won't be breeding just for color btw) or adopt from a rescue (them blue dogs aren't as rare as the backyard breeders would have you think, everyone and their brother is breeding them).

Check out these websites for acceptable colors: http://www.akc.org/breeds/american_staffordshire_terrier/index.cfm

http://www.ukcdogs.com/RegBreedGroups.htm (many UKC registered APBT are dual registered as Am. Staff's in AKC)

These links will help put you in touch with reputable Staffie breeders. They are breeding for temperment and conformation.
