"Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love, this is the eternal rule"
- Buddha -
I try to live my life by this, does anyone else agree with it?

Well Yes - where would it end if not ?
Take the existing scenario fo rexample - For how long has Israel and Palastine has been in war ?? From the time they started writing the History they have been at war. But if one party looked back to see where it had gone wrong and corrected it - be self critical - the hatred would have ended donkey's years ago...
May be Buddha should have been bron in Israel and not Jesus or Mohommad who couldn't get this straight.

No. People who believe that some of our emotions are "bad" don't really understand human nature. Hatred may not be a "emotion", but it is tied to anger and thus very much an emotion. I don't ever fight my natural impulses regarding emotions, it only leads to denial and pent up frustrations.

I do....the bible and other religious beliefs have very similar teachings in many ways. Of course, I take the bible as my life text, since I believe there is only one God, and only one way to God...by Jesus. But I agree with what you wrote.

I agree -- I find it ironic that those who resort to telling someone that because they chose to honor one spiritual belief system over another that they are condemned....
Heaven could be here on earth if people just accepted one another and their varying beliefs. My time on earth is what is important to me....to live honestly, presently, compassionately, and with great peace, that is my goal.
...agnostically speaking...
