cockatrices go there?
Isaiah 11: 6-8, “The WOLF also shall dwell with the lamb, and the LEOPARD shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young LION and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the BEAR shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the LION shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the ASP, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the COCKATRICE' den.”
Isaiah 65:25, “The WOLF and the lamb shall feed together, and the LION shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the SERPENT's meat.”

My little brother tormented me when I was eight by telling me that dogs don't go to heaven. I couldn't find any part in the bible to reassure me that I would spend eternity with my best friend Bandit. I was already a bit leary of God because he kicked Adam and Eve out of the garden of eden (like being sent to your room only worse!) and then killing everyone but Noah's family because God was mad. No heaven for dogs was pretty much the final nail on the coffin. I decided God didn't seem very nice though Jesus seemed alright. Later, I figured that God was likely made up but Jesus was real. Then I found out about old, old stories from many years BC were very similiar to Jesus stories. So maybe Jesus is a story passed down around campfires long ago. Still we should all live by the golden rule and love our doggies every day.

without going to that passage, I want to ask you a question. Did you read the passages leading up to Isa. 11:6-8 and the passages after it? Are you sure you read that the actions of the animals would be taking place in Heaven? Was Isaiah talking to New Testament Saints? In responce to the dog, there are a lot of animals that were not named that could equally be called man's best friend.

This is talking about what life will be like on the earth during the future millennium of God's reign, when things will be considerably more peaceful than they are on the earth right now. This is not talking about Heaven.

The reason that animals don't have an afterlife is that they don't have a soul. Souls are given to people along with free will so we can choose to follow God or to reject Him. Heaven will be filled with beings who chose God while on the earth.

Those other names of animals are only symbolic of our human nature... What this passage is saying is that we who had natures like lions, bears, snakes, wolves, etc.... have been changed so that we can be led by a child...

Those verses are all symbolic. Basically your whole quote says symbollically 'there will be no danger in heaven'.

On the other hand, who said your pets wouldn't go to heaven? God created them. If he loves them, and you love them, there is probably a place for them.

A more true fact is that no animal will go to hell. They haven't rejected their creator like we have. They haven't rejected God's plan for sexual reproduction. They haven't deceived each other to gain for themselves.

Believing that animals have "no soul" is human arrogance at it's worst. Animals most definately have souls. And if "Heaven" doesn't allow dogs or other animals, I don't want to go there!

Are you telling me that the Disney movie "All Dogs Go to Heaven" was a lie???

What? These scriptures have nothing to do with animals going to heaven! There is no proof that animals have spirits, let alone a place in heaven.

All creatures have souls and are reborn into this world, but then again that is just what I believe.
