Being ready for WWIII, in the nuclear age, requires only one SLBM. A single trident missile has the destructive power of all the bombs released in WWII combined. The18 Ohio class subs in the US fleet have enough firepower in their 24 Trident missiles carried on board to destroy the world ten-fold times.
The question of being 'prepared' to use that destructive force is the reason for the continuous training exercised aboard the ships. Will the Captains, EXO's and Weopons officers on board have the steel nerves to execute the orders from national command authorities?
As you know, in a nuclear war, the only true enemy is war itself. This alludes to the retaliatory capability of the superpowers. In the first 30 minutes of a full scale nuclear exchange, 1 billion people will be killed, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radioactive poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity. Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant and animal life would be obliterated.
Those in shelters will be able to survive as long as their water and food hold out.

As soon as nukes are let off everybody loses. The US economy is now very vulnerable to EMP attacks which destroy all unprotected electronics. Imagine the US operating without computers, cellphones, power grid, all post 1985 cars will be dead there computers blown. Planes with there electronic cockpit and electronic activated flight controls dropping out of the sky. That's without a direct hit on the US that's just in the atmosphere. In the next world war our technology will be our achilles heel we will be dead in the water.

Win the war, lose the peace.
And destroy modern civilization in the process.
No China = No modern economy or trade.
No international trust, no global trade
No global Trade, goodbye American lifestyle.
Not to mention the crisis of Nuclear Winter and radiological mutations and misery.
Humanity would survive, so would the US, but everything would be unrecognizable.
"And the living would envy the dead"
Democracy and Freedom need compromise, not jsut security to flourish.

There is so many people that are ready to jump in to war. Even through it on the other side of the world right now; it still not far enough. The bombings could be in our streets in our country. Doesn't that scare anyone!!!

Check out he numbers that "little rock" has in terms of military personnel, compared to the US, who's stretched so thin now I wouldn't want to think about what the outcome would be.
Dollars to donuts it'd go nuclear in a heartbeat if China ****** with us now.

If we can keep the "peace-niks" out of our Congress and particularly out of our White House, then we can do a good job of winning the next war.
If we let the "peace-niks" take over, then we are doomed and we will have to start learning a different language.

When people become aware of history and statements made in several prophetic announcements (Islam, christian, native american & etc), they will finally have sufficient knowledge, to have at least a bit of understanding of what is actually taking place in the world today.

no. we never are. after a conflict ends, the first thing the government does, is demobilize, downsize and, civilianize (send everyone home).
within a ten year window. we are involved in another conflict and, whoever is in power, is crying about not having enough experienced soldiers. this is usually when the debates start about, re-instituting the draft. talk about not learning from experience and, history, jeez!

It depends on just how intense a strike on the US would be. It is doubtful that any country that attacks the US would survive. it is doubtful that 3 or 4 country's that decided to attack the US simultaneously would survive. But, it is doubtful the US would survive, either.
Attacking the US is much like sex with a female black widow spider! When she is done having sex, she devours her sex partner. An enemy of the US, who decides to launch an attack would become that sex partner. This female black widow spider is capable of multiple sex partners. So, if your hell bent to attack the US, you really need to be super horny.
