I had a problem with this as I am and have been a Christian for many years and always believed divorce for any reason other than adultery was not forgivable. But, I have since learned that the word "adultery" means breaking a vow. Now didn't your husband promise to Love, Honor ...? Well, If he is abusing or mistreating you, he has already broken HIS vow. I don't think God meant for anyone to remain in an abusive relationship.

When adultery occurs.

That is from Jesus.

It's hard to say if Jesus would have a different view if Jesus was heard today, but one has to wonder out loud:

Why did you/they pick this person to begin with!

How does a good Christain pick a lousey Christian or non-Christian.

God also said Like should be with Like.

How can a Catholic man live with an Apostic Pentacostal woman!? I mean SHE GOES OUT OF HER WAY TO SPEAK IN TOUNGES because the Religioins views this a proper and in the CATHOLIC religion when you do that you are CONSIDERED to be possessed by a DEMON which may need to be Exorcised!

Now, how do you raise the kids!

The only best way is to raise them as AGNOSTICS and let them decide factually when they grow up!

Some religions believe women are second class citizens to be seen and not heard. They are NOT to speak in the Church!

These religions allow the husband to treat you as if he was your father and you were 8 years old, including the ability to give you a spanking!

Sorry, but to be true, you made your bed, lay in it!

Christian women and need need to PICK their spouses very carefully.

One Christian girl I know waited 4 years before she invited me on an outing with her to a Chruch function.

She sees lot of guys, kisses none of them and calls them all friends and views them as equals.

One day, she may decide on one to be a husband, but she gives them pleanty of rope to hang themsevles with and she has all the time in the world.

Jesus was talking to the Jews of his day when he spoke of divorce as they were required to observe certain rules PERTAINING TO THE LAW regarding marriage. I can't find a single reference in the Bible concerning divorce which relates to Gentiles (that's anyone other than a Jew) I have known of many Christian couples who have been divorced and remarried and not ashamed of their situation. To answer your question, There seems to be no hard and fast rule relating to this subject in the Scriptures. It would seem that provided there are reasonable grounds for divorce then there is nothing to my knowledge which would prevent this!

First, God does not ask you to be someone's doormat. If your husband is abusive, call the authorities.

God hates divorce but He loves divorced people. If you, as a belilever, are married to an unbeliever you must stay with them in hopes that they will be saved and your children are consecrated by your faith. Serve him in love, as Christ served the church.

The bible gives adultery or desertion as the only acceptable reasons for divorce. If you do divorce (as a woman), the bible says, unless you divorce for these two reasons, you should not remarry.

That being said, God is forgiving and merciful when people leave a marriage because they just are abused or otherwise miserable.

When marriage is done God's way, and the two are "equally yoked" (spiritually), then the marriage will work. God dispises divorce, but if one comes to faith in the marriage and the other is holding them back, then I believe God has better things in store for them.

im a christian and if he isnt treating you right and making it very hard for you to grow in christ i would divorce him.. God will understand
But i would work real hard on him before i decided that. If he has a open mind he should be able to see the truth shining off ya.
But i would try to get him to church and explain that you love God more then Him and He need to have a Good look at his life.

If she is married to an unbeliever she is his wife. If he mistreats her, she can leave until she will be safe with him again, but she cannot divorce.
