There are obviously a lot of people answering who have never watched a love one waste away from cancer. Shame on them for not having more empathy and a sense of compassion. I feel deeply for you and your sister. Cancer is a horrible death that rarely manifests itself in a kind or gentle way. Until you have gone through this with someone you love you cannot imagine the emotional stress that results from seeing a once robust person turn in to a bedridden person that is a virtual shell of their former self. There is nothing you can say that will help your sister deal with his. All you can do is be there for her and help her deal with her grief. People who have lost a loved one in this way often feel a great deal of guilt because they experience a sense of relief that it is finally over. Be understanding and help her realize this is perfectly normal. It is important that you help her see there is nothing wrong with wanting a loved one to be free of pain. I wish her the best.
To those who offered flippant answers - I also wish you the best in that I hope you never have to experience this pain.

That the Lord is with her and her husband at this time. And also tell her to tell her husband that it is ok for him to go. Alot of people who are at this stage in the death cycle have not released themselves from this world, and that it is alright for them to go and that God is waiting for him on the other side. I will pray for your family also. May God comfort you all in this most devastating time. God Bless

Many family members try to hold on long after the dying person is ready to go. It was very loving of her to ask for prayers that his suffering would end.

There are times when words are not enough. Open arms can say so much more. Shared happiness is doubled, shared grief is cut in half. I could say to just listen to her and let her lean on you now in her time of need.

Just tell her that everything is now in Gods hands but if she needs anything, to tell you and you will continue to pray for him.

I'd tell her to get him to a hospice, or a hospital, and get a doctor to prescribe pain medication.

I would say that both you and your sister have issues. First God is a giver of life not death, secound if you know anything of the word of God then I would want to take my prayer back because you will put a curse on yourself.

Just reassure her that God will call him when He is ready, and he will be in a far greater place than we are. God Bless.
