I was prescribed Lasix for lower leg edema, and it literally worked in minutes. I lost 600 pounds of water weight in two weeks on it. I had just had a baby, my liver failed, I went into a coma, and my body was literally floating.
Anyway, I stopped it about two months ago. On occasion, I take Diurex, which works well. It is not as potent at Lasix, HOWEVER, I think it works well for someone who does not need a presciption strenghth medication.
Also, try green tea, and drinks lots of water. The best way to keep off water weight is to stay hydrated.

No vitamin or mineral equates to the side effects of Lasix. However, caffeine is a great diuretic; and any natural foods like in green tea, offers great benefits not only as a diuretic, but also in the aiding of lowering high blood-pressure and introducing beneficial anti-oxidants into our bodies to help protect our cells from harmful free-radicals.
So check out some green tea! It tastes good, and it is good for you! Less caffeine than coffee, but enough to give you a diuretic benefit.

No vitamin or herb I am aware of can match Lasix's potency as a diuretic.
Swanson vitamins sells a 'Super Stength Water Pill'
(see www.indena.com). They also have a regular 'Water Pill'
Both are herbal. Use with caution. Edema can be a sign of serious medical problems. See a doctor if it persists.
