It's vollyball season, and I was at school practice. As outside hitter, I jumped up to block a ball, but the setter on the other side of the net was too close to the net, and I landed oddly when her toes tripped me. I sprained my ankle, but immediatly put ice on it. My question is if anyone knows any tips to stop the pain and get it to heal faster? We have games coming up that I don't want to miss!!!!!!

Use this in the 72 hours after the injury
PRICE!
P - Protection (protect it)
R - Rest (Dont walk around)
I - Ice (put an ice pack wraped in cloth or anything and put on the ankle
C - Compression (Compress it)
E - Elevation (Put it on ankle on a chair)

You will be fine! i sprained both my ankles and they both look at no more than 3 days to heal.

It all depends on how severe the sprain is, but you need to use cold for the first 48 hours. The standard treatment is RICE.
R=rest. stay off of the bad ankle! Use crutches or just avoid using it.
I=ice. using cold decreases swelling and pain early on. After 48 hours, switch to warm packs to stimulate circualtion and healing. (never use heat or cold continuously, and if you have diabetes or a circulatory problems, never use without discussing with a doctor.
C=compression. Use an ace bandage or elastic ankle brace to control swelling and give some protection and support. Make sure you don't cut off circulation, though.
E=elevation. Prop the ankle up, preferably above the level of your heart, as often as possible.

Using an NSAID (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen are all over the counter NSAIDS) can help decrease inflammation and control pain. However, if pain increases or the ankle isn't much better in a day or too, you really need to have a doctor assess the injury. Not taking proper care could take you out for more than a few games.

The best thing you can do is to keep it elevated & iced as much as possible. Sorry, I don't know of a miracle cure but keeping it wrapped in an ace bandage will keep it from moving too much and getting aggravated. The more rest you give it, the faster it will heal & you'll be back on the court. You should continue to wear the ace bandage for a while to give the ankle support.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

I don't think there is a fast way to heal a true sprain. It will take the body as long as it takes to heal. Continuing to play with a sprain is a good way to turn it into a ligament tear.

Unfortunately, honey, you wont know weather or not you broke something without an xray. In the mean time, keep it elevate, keep ice on it at twenty minute intervals and take over the counter pain meds until you can see your family doc.
