You should never give cooked bones to dogs. Cooking changes the composition of the bone and it can splinter and cause problem for your dog. If you want to give it something raw to chew on, give you dog a raw chicken wing or neck. Turkey necks work well too.
If you just want a bone, go to the pet store and pick one of the many they have to choose from.

Dogs are designed to eat bones. Just don't give them chicken bones cuz it's like eating glass. It was cooked and there is nothing to worry about. What goes in must come out. If the dog didn't choke while eating the bone chances are good that she'll pass it just fine. If it was hacking up a storm it could have a rough bowel movement ahead and be careful and watch her. It probably was a real tasty treat!

do not give any kind of bones to dogs. they can splinter, and cause an obstruction in the digestive tract. I know because I have assisted in many, many surgeries where we had to open the dog up , pull out the intestines find the pieces of bones and remove them. It is a very nasty surgery and the dogs are very sick, some don't even live long enough for us to treat them. the owners just thought it was belly ache, It was a very serious one ,one that killed their dog. sorry if this sounds like I'm on a soap box ,but i have seen this too much and it didn't have to happen. no bones for dogs!

We just treated a dog for this very thing at work. The dog was in agony as the bones would not pass. What did pass was the worst bloody stool you could ever imagine. Needless to say, the surgery was very expensive, too.
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT give your dog pork bones. The woman said she had done it before and never had a problem. It only takes one time to cause your dog needless pain.

Pork, Pork bones, are not good for your dog. They should be avoided in a dogs diet.
If you wish to treat your dog with something, give it a chicken neck, the bones are soft and will not harm your dog internally.

Are you talking about a ham bone? All other pork bones can be hazardous to your pet. They are soft and can splinter easily. A ham bone is harder, and can be fairly easily digested. It should be cooked. Do not add salt to the water it is not good for them.

animal bones are okay if they are NOT cooked. Cooking causes them to splinter. A raw meat diet is actually good for your dog

Never give your dog any pork, cooked or not. It's too prone to splintering. Uncooked you could be giving him/her trichinosis.
