The first thing you should do is crate him at night. In a crate small enough to sleep and turn around in but not big enough to potty in the crate and sleep elsewhere. Then pull all water around 7 pm. Potty every 4-6 hours at 18 months he should be able to hold it for that long. Feed at the same time every day. This will help you find out when he will normally have a bowel movement. They will potty on a time schedule. Potty once again before you go to bed and first thing in the morning. No doddling getting coffee! Once you know his bowel movement schedule you can wait for him to go, just be more patient. Your problem with exitementl peeing is just that! Excitement is a good thing but in this case its not so good. What you have to try is to not get excited when you approach him. Talk calmly, walk slowly and reward him with a treat if he stays standing. Tell others also to approach him calmly too. Obedience training is a must for your pup. He needs to be social and to build up his confidence. Your pup is a good pup he needs to be directed in what is correct. Don't yell at him for potting in your house, just pick him up and take him where you want him to go. Always you a command like "Go potty" Use it everytime you are where you want him to go. Also praise him let him know that is the behavior you want. Give it time it will work. You must also check with your vet to see if there is a medical issue such as a bladder infection. It is good to rule that out, especially if you have questions on how the urine is looking. Good luck with the training.

You CAN litter train your dog, however, it's going to take the same effort as training him to 'go' outside. When he goes inside, you NEED to immediatly put the dog outside. This can be difficult if you don't have a yard to do so. I went through the same problems with my little girl about her going potty inside. You need to control when you feed him and how much. Start out with two portions a day (say 1 cup each for medium to large dogs) and after the first portion, keep track of how long before he 'goes.' Once you get a schedule set, things will start to fall into place.

Trust me! He will getting better when he grow older. Puppy usually does that when he get excied or scared.
I think you can get something from the pet shop to get rip of the stain and smell from your carpet.

sound like submissive urination. some dogs get so excited to see you they piss themselves. there's other peasons for it, too. check out this link: (or do a google search for submissive urination)

and with the poo that looks like pee, that could be for a lot of reasons. it could be what you're feeding him, or something else, you might want to ask your vet about that one.
