Too much. The cheapest way to do it is to buy another 95 Neon.

This is an easy car to work on with a light transmission. A mechanically competent individual could complete this swap in about a three or four day time frame assuming you have everything you will need and you know where it all goes. I have done this in many cars and the work is average difficulty, but the car never really runs the same because everything is built around the automatic. A shop could do this but it just may turn out costing you more than the car is worth.

I did it once with a much older car. I bought one that had been smashed in the side but had a good manual transmission, and had a mechanic swap it out. It was cheaper then than replacing the car. But that was back in the good old days when you could lift the hood and play basketball in the engine compartment and everything was not computerized.

If you are capable of doing all the work yourself and have a CHEAP source of good parts it still would not be worth the effort.
