you cannot lower the temp in your humidor unless you have a controlled climate humidor, which i doubt you do.

However, you live in SoCal...the temperature there doesn't fluctuate much, and 77-80 degrees is very desireable for the cigars. do not put them in a cool dark place as mold will grow...so long as your humidity is between 68-75% your fine.

If you are trying to get your humidity down and not the temp, my suggestion is to buy some Boveda packs...these are the best invention ever..they are cheap like $4 a pack and they give 2 way humidity control, if the humidor is too humid the pack will take it out, if it is not enough it will dispense...they last about 3-4 months and as soon as they get hard, you toss them for another.

Is there a coolest part of your house you can try? I know the closer it is to the floor, the cooler the air will be, but I don't know if that will be enough.

I know in our house, it's built on a hill, and the half of the house that's more underground is much cooler than the half that is more exposed. Maybe you have something like that.

Is your temperature guage right? You can put it in the freezer for a few minutes and see if it's reacting right.

Turn your A/C down, put it in a dark cool place, or buy a wine cooler and set it up for your cigars there.
