Yes, most people you meet and listen to are spiritually dead. You can tell a Christian from a pretender based on what they say. Read the book of 1 John. Those that speak of God will listen to you if they are born of God. People who are spiritually dead won't listen to a person of God for the conversation of the Godly are foolishness to the spiritually dead because it makes no sense to them. They are blinded by this world as to their lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life. The spiritually dead care not for the things of the Spirit. They spend their entire time talking about earthly things like food, entertainment, sex, and comfort. If they do speak on the spiritual it is out of ignorance and in the comfort of a god that is made up in make believe living only in their imagination.

Yes they do, any one who has not been born again is spiritually dead. That's why Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3 : 3 that EXCEPT a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Sin killed us but Christ came to give us life and until/unless we receive that life we are dead-spiritually. And when we die without Jesus in our lives, we go to hell-the second death.
