Escapee. It means "one that has escaped." They are very smart. Feral Quakers are all over the place hare I live.
Your Quaker is likely to live 25-30 years! It will be a great companion to you for a long time to come.

Whatever you do, don't name it Kiwi.
Tons of people name their Quaker Kiwi.
Try and be different.
I found a website that has suggestions for pet names:
Here it is:
http://www.bowwow.com.au/pairsearch/inde...
This might give you some ideas. It also has a search engine on it that will give you theme name alternatives as well.
I found the website easy to deal with and fun because there are so many ideas!
I hope you find something unusual and fun!

If you don't want to teach him to swear, you'll probably call him Buster or Buddy.
As in "Watch it, B--- !"
Seriously, I had a Hahns, another nippy bird -- Quakers are sassy, and they nip a lot -- and he took so many cracks at me as a baby that I had to name him Buster, because he started to respond to it.
For unique names, try Baby names.com, and search under unisex:
http://www.babynames.com/Names/Alpha/?let=A
I named two of my Macaws, Murphy and Bailey, that way.

We recently got a new Conure parrot, and named him "Peepers." When he is happy and is talking with us, he makes sweet peeps. He also answers to that name.
Parrots are so much fun, enjoy your new friend.
