If you cut out carbs (no starch, no sugar - basically nothing "white" - denotes white flour, white sugar, white starch, etc).

List: No: Pasta, Macaroni, Rice, Bread, Potatoes, Sugar, etc.

I've lost 50 lbs in 6 months.

Have a lovely rest of the evening.

20 in 3 weeks isn't really ummmm safe or smart. Its not really a good goal that is within reach either. On average when you lose weight a healthy, safe & smart weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week with no more then 10 a month. Remember the slower you lose it the longer its likely to stay off. Cut out salt & proccessed foods. Watch your serving sizes and drink a ton of water.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Losing 20 pounds in 3 weeks is not reccomended, its quite unsafe. But if you really want to lose weight, cut down on carbs and fatty foods for somewhile. Consider going vegetarian for somewhile (but make sure you get a lot of protein from foods like lentils and nuts). Eat a lot of vegetables, and every few days, go on a juice diet-meaning, you subsitute juice (vegetable and fruit juices) for regular solid foods. Excercise is good, but don't overexert yourself--that could lead to pretty severe consequences.

Fastest way to lose 20 pounds is NOT to gain it in the first place.

Probably not safe to loose more than 10 to 15 pounds in that time-frame. It probably depends on your weight (less unsafe if you weigh more). I would expect that more than 2.5 lbs per week would be pushing it. Hopefully a R.D. responds.

Strap something weighing 20 pounds to you. In three weeks, take it off.

If you are serious, just exercise more and eay healthy and don't worry about how long it takes to lose weight, your body will do what's best for it.
