a number of reason but for one, it doesn't meet the crash saftey standards here. IIRC it fails the rear crash horribly and compromises the fuel cell.

No guard beam in the doors no bumper strong enough to survive 2.5 mph test. Smog no cat converter and other emission controls. Flammability of the interior. Exterior lighting not to USA spec. You can applie for EPA waiver and DOT recertification post a bond for the valve of the car and get the work done then provive pictures to DOT and EPA testing results Now tou have a Skyline recertified for USA Right hand drive. Or just go out right now and pick yourself a 350z with brembo brakes and 19" rear rims year end sale. Factory warranty New and it will blow the doors off a worn out Skyline. And get you to work every day.

It's the emissions. There are companies that will modify Skylines to meet U.S. emission specs, as well as those that import them for "offroad use only".

YES THEY ARE LEAGLE IN US, but because all the skyline's handle bar is on the right, u have to REPORT the car first at secretary of state, its a tight car man, fcuking go for it

Yes it is illegal! They have to be 15 years or older to import them to america.You might find some r33s. btw i drive a nissan sentra! woot woot, its got twin turbo, performance exaust,headers, big *** wing, rice for life baby!
