Okay, first off, you can lose 8 lbs. by October by eating more than 1000 calories. Never let your caloric intake drop below 1200 a day. You can limit yourself to 1200 and still lose the weight. Next, 4 hours a day of any type of exercise is really counterproductive. After your body runs out of glycogen stores to fuel your activity, it turns to your muscles. You shouldn't work out more than 60 minutes a day, unless you're an athelete in which case you'd be consuming larger amounts of food (2000+ calories a day). Typical weight loss is 1-2 lbs. per week. More really isn't safe and it's likely you'll put it right back on. If you're just wanting to lose 8 pounds, most likely all this is is water weight. Drink 2-3 liters of water a day along with a healthy diet and exercise and if it is water weight, it will come right off easily. Good luck!

You'll lose more than 8 pounds if you only eat 1000 calories/day and workout (is that what DDR is?) for 4 hours a day.

I have a deadline of Oct. to lose 5-6 pounds and I'm really going to try to. But, I wouldn't be able to limit myself to just 1000 calories/day. More power to you if you can do that...just don't become sick while doing it.
