1. My family works hard for their money, therefore, we might not have the best things in the world, but we make do with what we have
2. Yes, I know what poor is. I have been almost homeless with $5.00 to my name and no job
3. Because just because they come here, does not guarantee them any more rights than they have at home. If no one hires them here, then why stay? Go back home and be poor in Mexico.
4. And......
5. I didn't have a computer either until I worked my *** off and bought one.
I am sick of the demands that Mexicans (that's all I hear demanding stuff). Make everything in both languages, Mexican tv and radio, Wal Mart making announcements in spanish. Learn English, get a job, make your kids learn English, do things legally. That's not too much to ask!

You are quite correct about Americans, however, when it comes to the Mexican situation it is another matter. America has laws which Americans are made to follow. If we break the law we get the legal book thrown at us and sometimes wind up in jail. The illegals are crossing our border without the right to do so. If they want to work in America let them stand in line and get a visa like the rest of us when we came to America. What gives a poor Mexican the right to break our law and then protest that America is unfair? Of the 10 or 12 million of illegals in the USA it is estimated that 1 million Mexicans are either crooks, rapists, gang members, drug smugglers and so on. Americans pay for their health care and in some cases schooling, food and virtually none of them pay taxes. Americans foot the bill. Not fair! We must seal the border, then clean out the illegals. If an American offers an illegal a job he should be heavily fined. If he does it more than once he should be put into jail. Enough is enough!!!! I feel sorry for the poor Mexicans who sneak into the USA, but let Mexico take care of them. After all they are citizens of Mexico and the Mexican government should help them.

1. Fair enough, but that is like every other immigrant group that came here. All the other groups had to assimilate. Why don't Mexicans have to do the same? My family came from Germany. I am not a German American, I am American. You want to live here just become an American.
2. You know you have a point on this one. I have to agree with you here.
3. Life is hard sometimes. They can't all stay here as that would quickly overwhelm our social services.
4. They get here with a visa and are still suffering? It is that suffering that motivates people to work hard and improve themselves.
5. I am not going to lie, if I were Mexican I would try to come legally, but if that failed I would jump the fence too.
My question is what does any of this have to do with greed?

1. I do not wonder why they come here to the USA. Yes - most come here because they are poor. But how is a change of address going to improve your economic standing? If they need better places to live, why don't they move to the "better places" in their own country? I've been to Mexico, and not all of it is a vast waste land of the destitute. There are some very nice areas in the country, and some of them are even rather affordable to live in. They choose to come here because they choose to be greedy - if they want a better life, they can change the ways of their country. You think the US just became this way? I believe there were some wars, and a few protests and riots to get points across and change the way the things were going. I think they need to do some fighting and standing up for themselves.
2. I know what poor means. And I also know that your life is what you make of it. If you are poor, you need to do something to change that. I don't think that involves BREAKING THE LAWS. Our prisons are full of people that thought crime was the way to get rich.
3. It's cruel to send someone back to the country of their birth if they enter here illegally? Awww. . . If they dont' want to be sent back, then maybe they should come to this country LEGALLY. They should stay? Why? Are they going to be productive members of our society if they enter this country dirt poor and with no education? I will tell you - NO. They will end up needing our government programs to assist them with their support, and their families. These programs by the way, they don't pay for. I pay for them, and every other LEGAL person in this country that pays government taxes.
4. So we are supposed to be the world's charity? No - I think they should make changes to their own country. If it is broken, then fix it. Don't go over to the neighbors. . .
5. So what if I didn't have "computers and stuff"? Will I miss something that I never really had? How can you?
So this is your argument on why illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay? It is a rather poor argument, and I don't think you ever addressed the LEGAL issue of them being here. Why should we allow people that don't respect our laws to remain in our country? They have just proven that if they don't like a law, they aren't going to follow it, haven't they? So we are going to let them come here, and maybe they don't like the law that says they can't kill someone. Is that another valid argument? Well, they didn't like that law, so they just broke it. They shouldn't be sent to prison for the rest of their lives - let them remain free. BULL!
I think that winning us that are against illegal immigration over might be to begin respecting our laws, and understanding that the laws are there for a reason. We don't have an endless supply of resources, land and jobs. What are we going to do when everything is gone, and people are still coming into this country? We are going to starve, and the illegal immigrants will find another country to rape and pillage. . .

I'm an American and I live in the United States, and unless you are a full blooded Native American, you should stop whining about the Mexicans and every one else who comes here, because more than likely your ancestestors came to the U.S.A from another country to escape poverty and have a better life.If it weren't for your ancestors you wouldn't be living where you are now. By the way, I'm Native American, so how do you think we feel about you all coming here, taking our land and not allowing others to come here. All the land that the United States has is land that they stole. California and Texas were taken from Mexico in the first place.

It's obvious you're not American. You have no respect for our laws, just like the ILLEGAL immigrants. I'd say there are well over a billion 'poor' people in the world. Are you saying they should all leave there countries and move to better places? So your brilliant solution to inequality is that everyone move into countries where they don't speak the language and have no desire to contribute to the community. Mexico doesn't have to be a poor country. They need help in building a viable economy there, but that doesn't mean leeching off the US in any step in that process.

You're asking why we're greedy? First of all, wanting to protect YOUR land and country from these criminals (let me remind you illegal immigrants are breaking the law by coming here illegally) is not being greedy.
We sure as hell don't want to spend our tax dollars on them and the family they couldn't afford in the first place, their healthcare, or free housing when they don't even have to pay taxes. All the money they make goes back to their families in Mexico.
Why should WE have to mother them to their every need? We shouldn't. Just because their government is a sh*t hole doesn't mean we have to pick up their slack. But we do have to DEAL with it - and that is called DEPORTATION.
Illegal immigrants should NOT be allowed to stay here. We don't owe them sh*t! Not fair treatment, not a say, not rights. They come here, feed out of my hand and then wave their pathetic towel excuse for a flag in celebration at these rallies.
If you're an illegal lover why don't you move to Mexico with them. These illegals are NOT our responsibility. They belong south of the Rio Grande.
Earleen S hit it right on the spot. Kudos.

1. Do you wonder why mexicans come to Usa? Because they are poor, and they need better places to live.
Do you know why Mexicans are poor? Because their government, like most governments in this world, is utterly corrupt. It's a bribe-ocracy. THAT is what needs fixing.
2. All of you dont really know what ''poor'' means, even if you live in a cabin, you dont know what ''poor'' means.
True - American Capitalism has resulted in such wealth that even the poor are fat and have TV sets. But I have been poor. I pulled weeds then printed T-shirts to overcome it. I demanded nothing of others but was grateful when I found generosity.
3. Why would you send a illegal immigrant back to its country? thats cruel, if they get here. they should stay.
It is not possible for the US to continue absorbing the populations of corrupt nations. That has no end in sight and will only bring America down to poverty and corruption too. The SOLUTION is to fix those other countries so their populations will not have to flee. If those people lack the will to clean up their mess, we should drop pamphlets to them explaining the American Revolution.
4. But, Americans give alot of them visas, thats good. But most of them are still suffering.
Yup. And until they clean house in their country they will continue to suffer.
5. If you were from mexico, do you think you would have computers and stuff? think again..
There are LOTS of computers in Mexico. The wealthy elites who are oppressing the common folks have them.
Mexico, with its tremendous oil wealth, is one of the wealthiest nations in the world. The elites in power are keeping it all to themselves.

First of all you are in no position to pass judgement on how "POOR" somebody has lived in their lives. Many of us have grown up in homes with very little.
1) Our parents did not move into the rich man's house and tell him "we are going to stay here because we are poor and we can have life so much better here and you are going to pay for everything for us."+ Our parents did not slither into another country and expect the people there to supplement the low income they were willing to work for with food stamps, free medical care, education, and subsidized housing. Housing better than most of the people who pay for that welfare.
2) If they get here legally, they can stay, if not, they go.
3) We will send them back to their country because they are here against our laws and we want our laws enforced. WE are the PEOPLE our government is sworn to protect, THEY do as WE say, not what YOU say.
4) We have the right to give or not give visas. We can not give them indiscriminately.
5) We might not have a lot of things, but we would be staying the course and fighting for our rights THERE, not skulking into another country illegally. Raise a garden, plow with a mule, raise chickens, pigs, a cow, make butter, rob a bee hive, fish, sew your own clothes, draw water from a spring or well, do like our ancestors did, and then make it BETTER!! WORK for it THERE!!
joojoobii --It was OUR ancestors who came here before there were laws on immigration!! THEY are the ones who passed immigration laws. Immigrants then came through Ellis Island, the LEGAL way, kissed the ground upon arrival, proudly flew the USA flag, learned our language, did not get free anything, and assimilated as true, honest AMERICANS!! These illegal invaders coming here are arrogant, greedy, freeloaders who are going back to their own countries one way or another, smoothly, on their own or kicking, screaming, bytching via deportation. Their choice.

We pay for their education and healthcare, and our own children's health care and education in areas where illegals concentrate is substandard, as a result. Their better life is at the expense of our families. How can they be so greedy as to demand we subsidize services for them when our own children, sick, and poor don't have adequate services?
Universal education is very expensive which is why some countries, such as Mexico, just don't pay for it for their poor. Certainly poor people's taxes don't touch the cost of that service or other services we have in the United States. There are 12 to 20 million here who we have been paying for for years. The county I live in paid $1 Billion for their services last year alone - and that is just COUNTY services. We are clearly very generous. There are way too many, however, and we deserve to get some of the education and health care we have been paying for for our own people.
If you think this is a small cost, YOU cover their expenses.
