If ex's see that a relationship is working way better then her old 1 then they'll wil try to do anything to brake it up cuz they can't stand that they lost a good person and that sumbody else has that person!

That girl might not be very sure if it was really Mike who was calling her. She said it sounded like him. That statement alone shows a sign of doubt. If you want to make sure, you may as well ask Mike about it the next time you talk. Ask him to tell you honestlyif it was he who was calling her. If he says yes, ask him why he made such call. If he says no, trust him.
Put your trust on him more especially now that he is far away from you. Whatever you hear from anybody about him concerning things that may make you lose your trust on him should not be a big deal for you. Don't believe them.
The only times when you have to believe that he is infidel to you is when you yourself has actually witnessed it or he himself has honestly accepted to you that he is. Other than those, always give him the benefit of your doubt. Good luck.
