Take the key and your computer to Circuit City or some other place. They will charge you for installation, but not for the software because you have the key. They will also give you a disk that the key will work with next time you have to reinstall your operating system. Otherwise, you can call the Microsoft help desk... hahahahahahahaha What an oxymoron.

Hey there,

You can only get another CD from MicroSoft...sorry. That is if the OS (operating system) your are using has already been registered.

All XP keys are partnered with OS they are packed with...burning a friends copy will not work. If you need it for new hardware or driver installation that will work!

The last person I knew who claimed that had copied the key from the CD case with a xerox machine and was looking for someone to loan him a CD. We can't all be as honest as you and me or the Microsoft Anti-Piracy police would starve to death.

You can take it to a repair man and he can reinstall it for you. I don't think you can get another cd. Each Windows has it's own key code.

Good luck. My repair man has done my a few times with no problem. It's worth the 20 bucks!
