I'm sure everyone goes through that phase.
Life is what you make it, if you don't like it change something. Don't just sit there and let your life pass you by.

Yes, your feelings are completely normal so long as those feelings don't stop you from your regular activities. Five years is a long time though to feel that way and it's hard to give advise knowing so little about you and what you are going through. If it's just a feeling of the blahs, like there is nothing to look forward to except the same ol' same ol' thats one thing, but if you are in some sort of trouble like money problems or relationship problems then that's an entirely different situation. My advise to you would be to take some time and identify the problem or problems very specifically. Then look at the options for 1) changing something to improve the situation or 2) living with the situation but with a changed perspective. Once you know what the problem is and what the options are you can formulate a goal which would be the solution to the problem. Now you have the beginning and the end. Next you have to plan the steps to get from one to the other. They don't have to be big steps -- just little ones. It would help to write everything down and keep a progress journal. You are bound to feel better because you will feel more in control and the problem or problems won't overwhelm you. Hope that helps, but it's the best I can do without more information.

I know how you feel. Even on a good day when things are going well, I know that someday I'll still be dead, someone else gets all the stuff I've worked so hard to pay for, and everything I've ever done will be meaningless. But I'm still here and might as well try to accomplish something. Even rich people die. Doesn't seem to make any sense to go through all this. My only advice would be to find something fun to do and have at it. No sense in worrying about it all the time.

Welcome to the club...
I have always felt I do not belong in this realm. Since the start, a part of me just doesn't buy the crap we have here on Earth..I am homesick but unfortunately my home isn't here.
Life is an illusion and death is a beginning.
Its the "maya" in Buddhist belief and many other religious text does mention what a big joke this life is. So, you are not alone.
So what if you are rich, are you really happy? Money doesn't buy one happiness.
I would say experiance your life first, create changes in the life of others, do whatever you always wanted to do, access your own mortality, then when you are ready, when you are at peace, you will know what to do and the path will lead you there.
I wish you all the best in your path

Yes, I've had this feeling many times during my life. It's the "What's it all about" question. It's like Woody Allen in his movie "Hannah and Her Sisters". He keeps trying to find the meaning to life, he tries suicide and fails then walks into a movie of the Marx brothers, and finds himself laughing. He decides that he may never know the meaning of life, but as long as we're here, why not enjoy it. Depression can be inherited, I know that it runs in my family. I absolutely find the best thing to do is to exercise. Going for a long walk is great. Sometimes, it's just OK not to have all the answers, or even try to look for them. Just enjoy being you, you deserve it; and really you are here for a reason.

Everyone is here for a purpose. You need to make a list of things that matter to you and things you enjoy doing. Once you find out what your true passion is. You will start to understand that your life is precious and meaningful. Maybe you should consider seeking therapy and do some soul searching to find out what your best qualities are.
I've been where you are and sometimes I have to catch myself from falling back into my old way of feeling worthless. Now that I have filled my life up with things that make me feel good about myself. I now look forward to my future.

You could be depressed.
You may just be unhappy with what is going on in your life.
I think that most people question what life is all about, even feel like maybe life isn't worth living at least once.
If it's been going on for 5 years, then that is sounding like something that you need to find someone to talk with about what is going on that is causing you to feel so unhappy.

well life has its ups and downs and with the way the world is anymore its a cruel world. But hang in there cause there is some one up above seeing you go through this difficult time and so you are not alone. I myself am having a rough time in my life also. But keep in mind there is someone there with you okay. Just hang in there and help is there just look around for the hints he shows you.

Life has it's trial sand tribulations, that is why we are put here....you may want to seek some counsel about depression disorders, don't let it go too far...The thing to remember is, the more trials and tribulations you have to go thru, the greater your reward when you see Heavenly Father again..He never gives us more than we can handle, so give yourself as much credit as God gives you..Chin up and eyes heavenward, God bless you and know you are loved

Yes, I have a quiescent streak. I love to sleep and dream. But I'd still like to wake up again, even if it's after sleeping for 50 years straight. Maybe I have Rip Van Winkle-itis. As for dead, the dead know only one thing: It's better to be alive. Hang in there. You'll die soon enough.
