Your question is about the age you turn legal (18 or 21) depending on the State......or is it "Can I be Emancipated an Adult" by the court so I can live on my own ..... One of those the old calender and time will fix ... The other needs just cause ...ie... poor 9Bad) enviroment, bodily harm, sexual abuse ..... lack of adult responsible family (near or distant) to take over custody of the child (thats You) ....... The other Biggie Is are "You" responsible enought to get a job, finish school, feed & cloth your self..... I've heard of kids doing this at fifteen (15) years old .... sonner is not likely due to child labor laws .... but the circumstance must be dire for a court to rule in your favor .... The other option is to be emancipated by marrige ...... Trust in this ... don't buy the pig just cause you want alittle bacon !!
Hope this helps ..... Good Luck ...... if you do get the court involved perhaps they can insist on counciling that may fix or help the parental unit whos lacking .

at 18 if you can support yourself but dont think that moving out and working means you can do what ever you want you just trade your parents telling you what to do when to come home and what not to do for a landlord that can decide to kick you out for any number of reasons a boss at work that doesnt care why your late or cant get your job done on time and you will have to make yourself get home on time at night so you can be ready for work the next morning living on your own sounds wonderful but there is always rules from somewhere

The legal age of majority is 18... You can file for emancipation and move out earlier...
Remember rent in NYC is about a thousand a month for a shoe box and several thousand for something worth having...

You can get legally emancipated at 16. Keep in mind that it costs a lot of money to live on your own.
