The free trial that they do have for Sims 2 PC is the Sim creator module. You can get it here:

Other free stuff but this is different! Free trial for the ONLINE version of the game, called "Sims Online". It is a completely different game with graphics more like Sims 1. After the free trial it costs you a monthly fee to keep your membership.
