We could not predict exactly. Many things will happen within 20 years. In fact somebody could die in a split seconds at this moment.
But for the sake of having an answer, let us assume that everything will be fine and the acceleration of technological advancement is constant. Say we expect no war at all wihtin that 20 years because it is sure that CE, EE, ME and GEs would have a high demand after any war.
Perhaps, some other fields of engineering may raise, the demand for the foundation of engineering could not be ignored these are the ME, CE, EE and ChE. I believe they will always be in demand till the end of days.

I believe that Aeronotics, Genetic engineering and Computer engineering aill have a great demand.But you should be exytremely brilliant in those fields as the job openings will mostly be in R & D. Electrical and Mechanical engineering are always evergreen.

Its like reactants=products so does
DEMAND==SUPPLY
If there are more of you finishing at time lag of 20 yrs without demand...you have tough time, on the other hand if less of you available in particular stream of engineering than demand...you have your favours!!
predictability...well short term forecast 4-5 yrs is comprehandable but a long term for 20 yrs....I bet even best governments cannot forecast for citizens or improving nation as a whole.

I think you should read the book called "The World is Flat".
Depends on where you live. If you live in India or China, EEs and CEs will see good wages (for that country).
