Some may be confusing a "regular" cleaning, or phophy, with a "deep cleaning", or scaling and root planing. The second procedure is usually done with anesthetic because an instrument will go below the gumline to clean out plaque and allow healing of the gum tissue.
Like anything else, the price will vary greatly depending on the average cost of living index where the dentist is located. Also, specialists (periodontists) charge more than general dentists to do the procedure.
As mentioned above, this is most often done in quadrants (upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right). Prices can run from $150 to $300.
If you have dental insurance, most plans pay 80% on periodontal codes.
Chances are, if you have it done once and keep up with regular maintenance visits, you won't have to do it again.

National average is $215, but it could be a lot less or more depending on where you live. If you lack insurance, check this out. The plan wont pay 100%, but it would save you SIGNIFICANT money on any and all wanted or needed work. Plus, if you at least have a dental plan, most dentists are good about taking payments. So this would save you a lot overall. Like for example, I had an emergency oral surgery. Would have been over $2,000 for all of it, but thanks to this plan, I only paid $226 By the way, its the #1 dental discount plan in the country. Best price, best plan, best dentists. Read on:

I would say that it would pretty much vary a little from dentist to dentist. Most of the dentist that I've worked for work in quadrants in a patients mouth (upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right). Generally the cost for 1 quadrant of "deep cleaning" or a "perio" scaling / SSC, can run you like 250-300 for a quadrant,
& that's out-out your pocket if you don't have any dental insurance.

some could be complicated a "properly-known" cleansing, or phophy, with a "deep cleansing", or scaling and root planing. the 2nd technique is in many cases executed with anesthetic because of the fact an tool will go below the gumline to scrub out plaque and allow healing of the gum tissue. Like something, the cost will variety a great deal staring on the conventional cost of residing index the place the dentist is placed. additionally, professionals (periodontists) charge greater desirable than familiar dentists to do the technique. As suggested above, it rather is maximum many times executed in quadrants (top left, top precise, decrease left, decrease precise). costs can run from $one hundred fifty to $3 hundred. in case you have dental coverage, maximum plans pay 80% on periodontal codes. probability is, in case you have it executed as quickly as and shop up with properly-known upkeep visits, you will no longer could do it back.
