Because I think that wrong. My family shouldnt have to go back to mexico and neither any other family. If you were an immigrant and you were told that you have to leave would you like that? espeacialy if you were born here and that place was your home town would you want to leave? I wouldnt. All we did was come here. to live in and to get a job and rasie a family. other people came here to live too. why do they stay? We said the pledge of allegance at school everday ever since I was in kindergarden. And i still do and im 14. Have you seen the news when there was walkouts? That one big one? and the kids in high school walked out themselfs too. If you put all those people together including the thousands of mexicans that didnt go. there would be as much people here in America. (and I dont really know much about this and papers because my parents dont want me worried)

You may not believe this, but I do understand what you are saying. But do you hear what the opposition to your point of view is saying?
Your family broke the law. Pure and simple - that is it. They came into/remained in this country illegally, and because they set up their home and had a family does not make it any more right than someone that just entered. This being said, all illegal immigrants should be sent back to their native country. Why? Because our immigration laws (wheter one is legal or illegal) states that if you are not a US citizen, and you violate the laws of this land, then you will be deported. That is it, nothing more on it. There is no "gray area" - and what your family did was break our laws by coming into this country without going through the INS and filing the proper papers.
Saying the Pledge of Allegance does not make anyone more of an American than anyone else. What makes someone an American is following and respecting the laws of this nation. Crossing over the border illegally is not respecting or following the laws of this nation. Basically, it states that because your family didn't like the laws, they chose to break them. You can't break a law because you don't like it, and then expect all to be fine. If that is the case, then I am stealing a car tomorrow, and then telling the police when they arrest me that I don't like that I have to pay for a car. I mean, they are so expensive, and I don't make enough to buy a brand new car, so I must steal it so I can go to work. You know what will happen to me? I will be spending the next 10 to 20 years in prison for grand theft auto. And truthfully, is that any different? Both are breaking the law because they don't like them. And I have a year old daughter at home - so will I be let off because I have a child? Nope. I will be seeing her grow up on visiting days.
So yes - I do feel that if one does not have papers, and is in this country illegally, then they should be deported. That is it. If people immigrate to this country by following the laws of this land (like every other country on this earth mandates to enter their country), then welcome. But if people are here illegally, they need to leave. Illegal is illegal - there is no gray area. That is very black and white. It is like being pregnant - either you are or you're not. So either you're illegal or you're not. Not - get to stay. Illegal - get to leave.

Well what is so hard about getting it done the legal way? Sure it has its loops and red tape, but you have to do it right! Someone that answered one of the YAhoo question said it best...if you want a good car, would you steal one? If you want a good good house, would you break inside of one? If you wanted a lot of money you rob a bank? All of those things are illegal, and illegal immigration is illegal immigration!
And with all due respect, if your parents havent gotten their papers already and youre 14 years old, i think that is unacceptable and pretty much their fault!
volleyballchick, I loved your answer!!!!! I wish you could give yourself 50 points for that!

yes i think they should. at least until the united states can make enough jobs here in the states for the people that are americans. It sounds wrong yes, but there is too many people and too little jobs. Until then every american will complain about how mexicans get a better deal than born american citizens. They also have the minority act which a certain amount of mexicans must be hired. If they are illegal or don't have papers they need to leave.
Yes immagrants did have to have papers look up Ellis Island.

Yes!! ALL ILLEGAL Aliens should be deported, they are Criminally Trespassing !! Your parents were wrong to come into my country without PROPER papers/ documentation !!
Sorry if that is harsh, but it is the truth. Mexico has plenty of problems I get that, but guess what Mexico is the 13th richest country !! The Mexican people NEED to stand up to their Corrupt Government and demand better living standards and treatment !! Why should the US pay for every Poor Illegal Alien that wants to come here?? How fair is that to an American Citizen??
And as far as those walk outs go......LOL you people really dug yourselves a hole !! You woke up the Citizens of this GREAT country.....HOW DARE you DEMAND rights in a country that you are in ILLEGALLY???
And like many others said on this post....if your parents have been here for 14 years (at the minimum) then they should have already started the process of getting legal .....don't you think ??
~add on~ Let's start with YOU brought YOUR Parents in this !! No one else ...you all by yourself opened that door.
Now if you do not have proper papers saying you are a citizen or a visa saying you are legally in the states then guess what that makes you?? That makes you a (say it with me) illegal alien !!Here's a couple of definitions for you. Happy Reading !!
Noun
an illegal alien
A person who is within the boundaries of a political state without that government's authorization; a national of another country who has entered or stayed without permission.
ille'gal al'ien
1. a foreigner who has entered or resides in a country unlawfully or without the country's authorization.
2. a foreigner who enters the U.S. without an entry or immigrant visa, esp. a person who crosses the border by avoiding inspection or who overstays the period of time allowed as a visitor, tourist, or businessperson. Cf. resident alien. Also called ille'gal im'migrant.
Sorry if the TRUTH Hurts........

If you were born here that you are a citizen of the united states. If you were not born here, then you should try and live in this country LEGALLY. This applies to all nationalities. My ex-mother in-law came from France with an american husband and still had to go through the channels legally. She had to learn the constitution, etc before she could become an american citizen. There is a reason laws surronding this issue exist. I am not against Mexican people but I don't think they should be treated special just because they are able to walk across the boarder. I live in California and let me tell ya....alot of our young men are not getting the jobs or the pay because illegal aliens will work for dirt cheap just to be able to stay in this country. What they don't realize is that it might benefit them to become citizens when it comes to pay because the labor laws would apply to them. Bottom line.....If you are here illegallly, then you should either leave, or try to become a citizen and pay taxes just like the rest of us.

I will work hard to save for my kids college probably to only have them rejected so an illegals kid can go instead. NO ONE has the right over an american born citizen to our benefits.
Your parents are here illegally. ask them this for me, WHY can't they stay in Mexico and revolt like we did way back when to get our own country. People keep leaving and DONOT try to make it better.
yesterday I saw a mexican lady with 6, yes 6 kids. She was in line with her little wic card buying stuff when her husband or boyfriend showed up and pulled out a wad of cash. Now im standing there thinking, why can't he use that cash to buy that food instead of the money thats coming out of my husbands paycheck? If you are here legally, FINE, its illegals. They should have no rights as a citizen does, sorry but this will affect us LONG down the road and even YOUR CHILDREN, I wish you could understand from my point of view honey.
Imagine 20 yrs from now you are raisinga family and they keep raising taxes because now we have an influx of another race or whoever coming in illegally, YOU wont feel the same way you do now. That goes for all illegals
I wish I was still young and naive about the world but we grow up and it becomes something YOU never could've imagined

Our schools are failing because we have to support all of these poor people who came illegally and drain our education funds. To me it is total numbers, and if screened illegals stay we just need really strict enforcement and closed borders going forward, so our schools can try to recover. Health care is in the same shape. Poor people do not cover the cost of their services with their taxes, their taxes are low. The rest of us pay for them. That is why we limit how many poor people can come.
I understand that 1/3 of the illegal immigrants here today are family of those given amnesty in 1986. There were limits on when and how many of their family they could bring in in a year, so our schools and services would not be flooded. Those limits were ignored as red tape since 'eventually' their family might have a right to be there. What would you do about the family of those here, if they were allowed to stay? There is no possible way we can afford to have each of them bring in absent family. Should we deport the legalized if they do it anyhow?
Legalization will only delay hard decisions. They will still need to be made.
Having said that, I am not opposed, if the criminals and gang members all go, and we get strict enforcement and border security going forward, dismantling benefits for illegals going forward, as well. However, that didn't work last time because future enforcement was a 'trust me' kind of deal, and we aren't going to support that, again.
By the way, you are wrong about the term 'aliens'. That was used to refer to foreign nationals present in this country since the inception of this country - long before the term was borrowed to apply to little green men by science fiction writers. It is a legal term and even pro-illegal immigrants use it when trying to write laws....such as the Dream act, for instance.

We have to have a point at which we cut it off, stop the illegal immigration and anyone who is not yet legal, must leave. Sorry, kid, but you just happen to be here at this time. If your parents are not legal and have been here for at least 14 years (your age), they should have already became citizens or at least have the procedures in place and legal documents to stay here. It's the ILLEGAL who are not even trying to become legal citizens, who have no documentation, no proceedings in place to get them, that we want to go back to their country and enter the legal way. People can't just walk into the USA illegally and expect Americans to welcome them with open arms. There is more to it than just wanting to work and raise a family. Immigrants who legally enter the USA are welcome. Most of our ancestors were IMMIGRANTS (NOT illegal immigrants). We now have laws. Those laws ARE to be enforced.

As harsh as it may seem, what I would like to see is for immigrant families to seek legal status. I couldn't just walk into Mexico and seek a job, shelter and driver's status without having some kind of documentation. What worries me is that many of the criminal element come across and then play dumb about driver's licenses because they may have some criminal history. It's not about you...it's all about what's fair to the citizenry of this country...and that includes many people from Mexico and Central and South America.

This is what countries do. The U.S. is no different. If you don't believe me try moving to Canada without a visa. Try living in Mexico without a visa. It works that way. Citizenship protects your rights. U.S. citizenship is the same. The pledge of allgience is not the only pledge you take in this country. There is another pledge you take to change citizenship. The people you are talking about are not taking that pledge and are not fillingout the dobuments they ought to to immigrate here. They could do that. Since they don't they are breaking the laws of this country and as they are not citizens of this country we are not obligated to imprison them. We are obliged to send them home. It is amazing. Terrorists can take the time to secure visas but these people can't. That just seems amazing to me.
