They couldn't. That's why it's called religious faith.

Prior to the incarnation, the eternal Son of God was one in person and nature – fully divine. After the incarnation, He was still one in person, but two in nature – divine and human. In His divine nature, Jesus was omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Indeed, He exhibited these divine traits at various times during His earthly ministry. However, in his human nature, Jesus was subject to the limitations and pains of humanity. He knew hunger, weariness, the need for sleep, physical pain, and was “growing” in knowledge.

At various times in the gospels, Jesus acted under the influence of one nature over the other. As an example, in Matthew 21:19 we find that Jesus, in His hunger approached the fig tree to pick and eat a fig, not knowing (in His human ignorance) that the tree bore no fruit. He then exercised His divine omnipotence by causing the fig tree to wither. As another example, Jesus knew (by divine omniscience) that Lazarus had died, so He went to Bethany (John 11:11). When Jesus arrived, he exchanged His omniscience for human ignorance and asked where Lazarus had been laid (John 11:34).

In Mark 13:32 and Matthew 24:36, Jesus was speaking from the vantage point of His humanity. By not exercising His divine omniscience, the Man Jesus did not know the day or the hour of His return. A further argument can be made by the fact that while each Person of the Trinity is part of one God, each Person is distinct from the others, with separate roles. Jesus could voluntarily surrender His divine omniscience of the time of His return, choosing instead to leave that to the Father.

There can't be any scientific or historical proof that Jesus is God incarnate, because that's outside the physical realm. People who know it "for certain" say that they know it by faith, usually faith that is based on reading Scripture (the Bible). Other people will say that they can't know "for certain," but they believe, and that belief (or faith) and knowledge are two different things. Depends who you ask, I guess!

Jesus said that one can not serve two masters... so one either believes... or he don't. The choice is yours.
I would suggest to anyone that is not sure, take the time and read Hebrews 1 through 13.
In John 3:18 Jesus says, "He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only, begotten Son of God.'

the birth records list Jesus as the su of mary and Jhoseph. the records in the synagoge list the same person as a Rabbi. HE is also listed in severl other religious learing sites.
Jesus was not supposied to be his real name . Mary did not tell Joseph that God told her to call the child Emanuall is was joseph that named the child Jesus.

Nobody can know... it's faith. It's what one person is willing to believe despite not so good proof. Anyone who says that the miracles he did happened for certain need to look harder into there religion. I believe that the miracles Jesus did are metaphores nad stories to show people what they need to do with their lives, not what he did with his. Since people take religion literally and do not read between the lines, we created a word for this... Fanaticism.

i have pondered alot lately.
read 1st timothy..3:16.
jesus is god, in the flesh.
but yet god is himself.
its all mind boggling, but true. god has three parts. god the father, god the son& god the holy spirit.
when jesus prayed before his death he prayed to god the spirit still in heaven.
havent you ever noticed in the old testament god sounded alot like jesus??
and jesus was able to eat after he was risen as he was not yet changed!!
none of us will be changed into our glorified bodies until after rapture and the marrige supper of the lamb.
but have faith.
pray. just believe. dont do crazy like me and explore other religions, i nearly went mad!!! but i came full circle back to knowing that king james and niv are true.
i just feel it!!! it makes sense.
relax and live, be good to all, this life is short, full of tests too.
just get ready for eternity!!!!
god bless you!!!!

they cant, especally if he isnt.

but it is said Jesus was either some crazy man, and big hoax, or who he said he was,
he was highly respected, and controled, so probably not crazy
so many proficies came true about him, so to be just a hoax, like things came true before his birth, and after his death, that he could not control
so he would be who he clamed to be, though he never claimed to be God incarnate
but one can never prove it, or there would be no faith. yet when you pray and are answered, or have personaly experences woth God, and Jesus, you start being pretty sure they are real.
does that answere your question?

Reading your bible and study the word of God give you knowledge of Jesus. Reading Genesis thru Revelation you would know who Jesus is, then you can have a personal realtionship with Him. Read John 1, and John 17, and the whole bible.

Yes, based on the miracles he did, Jesus rising form the grave, the salvation message he proclaimed, and the faithful testimony and sacrifices of the apostles and early church.

The resurrection thing kind of closes the case. There were also the healings and the whole water into wine wedding event.
