no,not if it's encoragement. but if you let every bad comment you hear get you down, you depend on others for your self-esteem. decide which negavtivity helps you and which one to ignore.

Not at all. It's actually very common but it affects some more than others. The positive effects can be seen in any group atmosphere.
Personally i see it in team sports, where simply negativity breeds more negativity and positiveness breeds.. well.. you get it.
If it overly affects you it may be because you are a little to responsive to your surroundings, and you may need a little work on being able to be an independent person because everyone ends up in some atmosphere that is. well.. less than positive, whether they like it or not.
Otherwise you're a perfectly fine individual dont stress on it too much.

no , but when you hear the negative - you just have to remember the positive and don't let it get you down. Everyone could use some loving well -thought constructive criticism - but not negative random mean hateful comments.
If you hear something about you that will help make you a better person - use it. If not - loose it.

Well are the negative reactions based on something you are doing or just because the person delivering them is a negative person? Same goes with the positive, is the other person giving positive feedback because you are doing something positive or are they just positive about everything?
If the negative feedback is just because the other person is negative about EVERYTHING, you should just smile, nod affirmatively and say to yourself, Thank God I'm not miserable about everything. But if the negative reactions are due to something you are doing, try to learn from them (but don't beat up on yourself or be paralyzed, just listen, learn and say I'll give that a try, assuming they are offering sound advice) . It is natural to not want to hear bad thing about oneself, but if it's due to something that you are doing that could be improved, just listen and try to learn from it. And hopefully they are offer CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM and not just saying bad things about you, that would paralyze anyone.

You can listen to only the things you want to hear. You can watch cartoons, and you can suck on your binkie, and you can pick dandylions all day long if you want.
Or, you can come up for air, and take a look at what it is that's making life so rough.
Your choice.
We'll all still be here when you decide to come out and play with the grown ups.

The real question is why you're taking it personally what strangers type on an internet message board.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinons. They're not always going to agree with you. Get used to it... it should not send you into a tailspin.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to hear what you want to hear. Just be prepared for the responses from the people that don't care what you want to hear, they just want to say what is on their mind!

Yes, its all in your head and your full of yourself. Its called life. You dont like what people have to say good or bad then stay in your house. Or you could snap out of it and live your life. If someone has something negative thats their opinion and they are entitled to it just like your entitled to yours. WAA.
