Hmmm...it's a controversial question and also a very thought provoking one. Although I am Christian attending a Catholic school, I am somewhat partial to the fact that the world was created by atoms, not God. I think that religion is a way to control people but not invented by the government, maybe by some Greek guy who was bored and sick of being bullied. But I'll continue believing in the Lord, for he has done alot for mankind from what we know and understand
Have a fantastic weekend
Peace

I went to church my whole life. I prayed when I wanted or felt I needed something. I never fully believed though. I questioned the existence of the Lord many times. As an adult, I experienced the presence of the Spirit. That presence caused my to believe whole heartily. The existence of the Lord was now knowledge and not just belief. I didn't pray with a "to do list" to the Lord. I worshiped Him freely. I praised His name and thanked Him for all He gave me. I prayed fervently and soon my needs were met. I have no doubt the Lord is real - and it has nothing to do with the government.

Religions are real. Eternal life in heaven or hell and the punishment is what you have to believe, because no dead person will live and come to you to tell about it. Even if this happened, you might still be not believing.

You will find out after you die, and .... since you are still alive now on earth .... better think about how you live a good life rather than thinking about life after death. If you live well now, you will live well in heaven ....

This is not enough information, but just a start .... for you to think about further ...

Organized religion is a structured invornment that is used to control people. Why else would you have to pay for it? Faith is very real and is not a form of control but the expression of the mind, heart and sould to do as you feel and to be the best person you can be.

unfortunately religion is very real. its the concept behind religion that isnt real. religion was not created by the government either. religion was created by believers of a god (or gods). religion exists to comfort people. religion is a mass brainwashing spanned through the ages. i cant really call it a "virus", but depending on how you look at it, i guess it could be...

Religion is the ultimate con, it is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. No wonder so many people jump on this manured money wagon.

Some say you have to "believe" in something. Normally I'd say no thanks I'd rather know than "believe". I have no problem accepting that there are many things in life that I or anybody else can know. But now I realize there are somethings to believe in. Two in fact. One is education over ignorance and the other science over superstition. Does religion come into play here?

Faith is what most people have. Religion is the tool that is used to express that faith. I know Marx said it was an opiate of the masses, but it brings a lot of comfort to people. However, I feel that governments to try to exploit people's devotion to their faith. I guess like anything it's a fine line. I have faith and I am truly happy in the church I belong to because we are encouraged to think for ourselves.
