Come to be "Natives" of the North American continent? Are there any "First Nations" people who will answer? I ask for proofs of your answer, not just words typed together to make a sentence. Thank you in advance for your time. I dont accept the theory of the land bridge. Change my mind if you are able.

The reason I have difficulty accepting the scientific version is because they are simply 'theories" . My peoples have a history which goes back further than biblical times and the histories all tell of our people being on this continent from the "first" day.

It's a controversy that has been going on for a long, long time. It really doesn't matter whether our ancestors were always here or migrated 30,000 years ago from Asia. Either way, there were NO other people here and our people are the true NATIVES. That length of time makes us the indigenous people. It doesn't make us more or less what we are. You could argue and debate this into the ground, the fact is it doesn't matter.

I, personally, believe our ancestors migrated from Asia. It makes sense to me. However, everyone has the right to believe what they want to. Actually, Renegade, there is no solid proof of it, only scientific research that tracks our people back to Asia, such as blood DNA, tools found, the way homes were built, beliefs, designs on pottery passed down, things that resemble those from Asia.~~ it doesn't matter, I still luv' Ya.

This site explains some of the beliefs that the Bering Strait theory might be incorrect:

There is pretty sound evidence for two waves accross the "land bridge" one about 3-5 K before the other one around 15k ago and the other about 10k ago... Aside from that?

Well there is some scant genetic and archiological findings that point to a small group of nordic people landing in the present mexico area approx 12,000. The probably interbred into the Asian "land bridge" groups.

There are also some theories that the South Pacific people may have gotten into this area by boat around 8,000.

Thats what I know.

Something is wrong there--The Jewish records (which till the time of Christ and a bit after) kept meticulous birth and line records. But around 75 AD that was no longer the case. No longer can you trace records that far back. It can't be done. I would like to see that if what you say is true. So would many Museums. But we can trace many records here from the 1500-just a few. It's that amazing. There are sites to help you trace your history (many good ones you must pay for now).
I don't have to change your mind-that is up to you.
A good history book (not basic) or the web can tell you about Native history.

According to the Delaware Indians, the Cherokee came from across the ocean in 13 large canoes the size of which they had never seen before. They settled to the south of the Delaware, and laid claim to a chunk of land roughly equal to the size of what would later be the CSA, east of the Mississippi River, and south of the Ohio and Chesapeake... Aside from that, the landbridge theory was proved this year by an American and Briton who were arrested by Russian authorities for arriving at an illegal entry point on the Bearing Straight, after hiking across the ice from Alaska.

indigenous? the native americans came from asia over the land bridge between alska and siberia about 8-10 thousand years ago, but the exact time is unknoown as is the possibility that some came from the southern american continent. for others, there is total disagreement on the entire subject. maybe they sprouted from a big mushroom just after the great flood. well, it could have happened that way! not!

Usually the imposter is on level one but I noticed that they were on level 4 the other night, which indicates to me that there are obviously more people involved. I have an idea who they are but I am really tired of these morons harassing me and stalking me online. There are laws against that but they don't care about that. Typical criminal behavior. I'm also tired of people expecting me to respect the ones who are doing this, making up lies, invading my privacy, making fun of the fact that I have made some accomplishments in poetry and making up poetry that I DON'T WRITE and posting it and other people believe it. I have my opinions, like everyone else and I am entitled to them. Here's how it works: if you respect me, I will respect you. As far as the "nasty e-mails", I send them when they are sent to me. I give what I get. It's very simple. By the way, the people who are saying that the writing stuff is a sham, it may have been for some. Depends on where you go but obviously, they are just making a pathetic attempt to tear down what I have done and this doesn't belong in the immigration forum. I had a lot of good luck with my writing but a lot of things, like blogs, they stole off of my 360 page. Imagine how you would feel if someone were STALKING you this way....I am very tired of it and if it is viewed as "making fun" of them, I think that's far better than making up LIES about abortions and trying to humiliate one simply because they have a different view.

Genetics offer the best proof. Native Americans are genetically linked to mans first steps out of Africa and can be followed to the American Continent. I was part of the study. But don't take my word for it.

Well from history and science... they were the first human beings to come to this part of the world. So pretty much they discovered it and are "native" to it because of generations and generations and a ton more, they became native to it.

i mean if you really want to get THAT technical, we all come from that land that had each continent connected.

God sees us as one thing though- the human race.

Why does it matter?

Anyway, it's hard to know how to change your mind, if you reject theories without saying why you do.

ADDED:

Ok, so you are disinclined to adopt theories and evidence, but you are inclined to believe stories. You could be right, but that seems like more of a leap than the scientific approach. Anyway, I don't know when the "first day" was, but presumably your ancestors that far back did not have language yet, so I'm not sure how they could have transmitted the stories. It seems like the stories would have to have been made up later, by people without knowledge of the events.

Personally, I think it's all word play. I don't give a crap about anything that happened centuries or generations ago.

If you were born here, you are not an immigrant. (although I don't agree with any loophole that allows a child of illegal immigrants to automatically be a citizen).

If you were born somewhere else, and came here, you are an immigrant. Period.

People who are trying to justify come here illegally by comparing it to those of us whose ancestors migrated here legally are simply full of ****.
