Not sure, but start by looking in the Old Testament of the Bible. See how many God demanded to be killed. Then read the Quran and see how many Allah (another name for the same god) demands to be killed.

Then we can move into the Spanish Invasions, the Crusades, the Inquisitions, the forced conversion of many American Indians, and the Salem Witch Trials. There were also the many Muslim invasions of various lands, including Israel millenia ago, and again today. Of course there are also the so-called terrorists attacks.

Killing in the name of God / Allah, has been just as, if not more, devastating than the killings in the name of greed - Romans, Greeks, Vikings, England, United States. WW II falls under both since Hitler was a greedy pagan killing in the name of the world domineering perfect race of the gods.

If I were a god, I would want people to open their minds and learn tolerance. But since there is no proof that such a god exists, I'll continue to not believe in a god (or against a god) and live with an open mind and tolerance towards others.

People go to war because that is what people do with or without the cause of religion. Now that you mention it lets take a look at all the major wars and see just why they were fought.......

World War 1- world domination
World War 2- the spread of Naziism and to wipe out the Jews
Vietnam- stop the spread of communism
Gulf Wars- defending an allie and fighting terror

As you can see you are in error, the major wars of the 20th century had little do with religion and everyting to do with politics and fighting tyranny.

I tell you the truth God did want us to live blessed lives but that was not possible given our sins. We made this world what it is and now we have to live it and accept Jesus to get that truly blessed life you seem to desire!

In the haste to assume a capacity for insight you have betrayed the opposite of your intent.
Firstly consider the possibility you may not posses such a grand ability to think and reason as you may think.
Secondly, try some simple arithmetic and add up the millions in the last century who died as a result of a pure atheist theology enabled by their followers who you resemble.
Thirdly your definition of life assumes a much narrower meaning than that of the simples Theist.
Read up , educate yourself properly do some growing and then come out with a more convincing argument please.

Far too many. They die because of the actions of man not in the name of God.

"If I were a God, I would want people to live, not die."

What do you think thou shalt not kill means?

Humans just ignore what they want to.

Millions, no Atheists are going to give the only life they have in sacrifice for someone else. Takes a religion to preach a man into a fox hole. With promisses of eternal life in heaven.
With or without the virgins.
governments need religion to get recrutes for the military.

Everyone who has ever died, did so because of one war. It is a spiritual war waged by satan against God. All other wars are the result of this war. Maybe you should consider blaming satan, instead of God.

Lots. What you say makes sense.

I have a theory that all the major religions have been given a piece of the puzzle. It is our choice to either see how these pieces join together or to ignore the wisdom spread around the world and fight one another.

Leaders like to divide us, but it is our choice who we follow.

More have died in wars in the name of men, like Hitler,
Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the Caesars, and Genghis Khan...all atheists.

Billions less than those who have lived a life without Christ in their hearts and wasted their lives in empty pursuits and evil ones such as antagonizing Christians. Billions less than the souls who will cry their agonizing torment as they become part of the darkness of the blackness. None as compared to the billion who have died following the soulless atheist that have come into power and have misled millions such as yourself.
