Both...perhaps we should adopt mehhico's tradition of making family and friends "pay" to get their loved ones out of jail....
If it cost enough, they won't come...

Illegal aliens should be deported.
Employers of illegal aliens should be punished. If there are no jobs available because the INS actually checks the worker eligibility forms employers have to fill out and enforces existing laws, then the flow of illegal immigration will be significantly reduced.
Incarcerating illegal immigrants would be very expensive and add to the already overcrowded prison system. Instead, crack down on the employers who have an unfair advantage over companies that follow the laws. This is something that can be done immediately under existing law. Write to your state Attorney General and demand they prosecute employers of illegal aliens.

I kinda like mimi's answer above.
However, I know that the determined ones will just keep trying to return if they are deported. I think deport them the first time and the second time put them in jail until their friends/relatives pay a large sum of money for their release and upon payment of the money, ship them to the furthest reaches of their home countries and if they return, increase the amount of money needed to release them every time. Better yet, make sure our southern border is absolutely leak-proof so they can't come back very easily. I don't want our tax dollars to have to pay to feed and clothe and shelter them in our prisons for too long, either.

Both. They should be put in jail awaiting deportation. If they want to be in the U.S. so much, while insulting America, they should be left in prison or a jail to rot, like the sorry criminals that they are.

Deportation.
It's not their fault they were born in a poor country. They just want a better life. The Mexican government is just screwed up. Don't punish the people for it.
Also, their is enough people in prison and it is already costing lots of money in taxes.

deportation and lets not use the excuse its not their fault they were born in a poor country, if I was that poor I sure the hell wouldnt be having kids I couldnt feed and clothed

Deportation.
Where are we gonna put them... our jails? They are already too crowded. Lets just get them out.
I don't know the exacts, but to me it seems like it'll cost a lot more to keep them here in our jails then to just get rid of them.
